Recently we watched, ARKANSAS. the second A is represented by a skull. It was weirdly good. I didn't realize that Liam Hemsworth was a good actor.

“ARK💀NSAS
Yeah.
That was like Joel and Ethan got loaded on V10’s lightly dusted with pcp, took a same old same old ugly assed Piggly Wiggly pig story and put some cool weird lipstick on it, using a good cast and a really gifted makeup artist. 😊

Watched “BlackBerry” the other day. It was good. Made me think of Charms7, and how she used to post on the SKMB with her BlackBerry.

The Highwaymen
Former Texas Rangers Frank Hamer and Maney Gault come out of retirement and join forces to try and apprehend notorious outlaws Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow.
Don't know if it's historically accurate, but i liked this movie. I liked that it didn't portray Bonnie and Clyde as some sort of robin hood type duo, in fact, they were barely portrayed at all.
Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson were great together. The cinematography was lovely.

Two movies I strongly suggest,
1) X 2022
And the prequel, also for 2022
2) Pearl

Ishtar (1987) Dustin Hoffman, Warren Beatty
This movie is much better than it's reputation. I think it's pretty funny.

Good to see you, doc. How are thing going ? I've been down for about a month with a very extreme sinus infection.
I have a follow-up today, I think I am better, but I've thought that a few times and have relapsed, so, fingers crossed.
Thank you for asking, and how about you?

“Pretty Things” 2023 Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Mark Ruffalo
Follow Bella. She totters and struts forth with fearlessness. But keep a safe distance, eyes and ears wide open and mouth shut. (let your jaw drop and cover your eyes when necessary. That’s alright. ) Make sure you’ve always got quick access to your gun’s grip or your daggers hilt. And never let your guard down. Greatly expect to be madly delighted and appalled.
If I told you more than that, Frank might have to banish me.
Yorgos Lanthimos is rapidly becoming a favorite director of mine.

The better of the 2 Intrigo films I’ve seen : “Death of an Author” I have to watch anything with Ben Kingsley in it. And I do really like Benno Fürrman.
Right now I’m watching “Foxcatcher” This movie is weird, verging on being surreal. A drama thriller about Wealthy John DuPont’s wrestling team.
Steve Carrel is doing a brilliant job in a serious role. And being creepy as f**k.
I’m not sure where this story is going, but have to keep watching to find out.
All I know about the DuPont’s is that they were(are?) one of the wealthiest, and most powerful and influential families in American business and high society. A family riddled with (rumored) inbreeding, and mental/physical problems/conditions to go with that.
I’m not sure if, or how many, of those rumors were ever actually substantiated, but Carrell’s character sure fits the profiling. 😳…..ewwww….icky! 😝😂 His motivations seem like they may be nefarious….it’s something you can’t quite put your finger on. He just ain’t right. 🤔😒
Channing Tatum’s character, Mark Schultz, an Olympic wrestler and gold medalist , is intense (not in a good way) pretty f******g weird and brutish as well.
Mark Ruffalo plays his obviously more stable older brother, Dave. Also a gold medalist.
I’m wondering if this story ends with scandal or tragedy….. or maybe both.

The Harder They Come (1972)
A low budget film shot in Jamaica about a guy trying to break into the local music scene and make a record but he learns the hard reality that the business is run by corrupt people and there's no real way to get ahead. He takes on the corruption and ends up becoming a fugitive. The movie is a very gritty look at everyday life for the locals.
The movie is sort of two mismatched halves, the first half a look at the music business and life in Jamaica and the second half is kind of a violent Western. Still it is an engrossing film.
And the movie has a magnificent soundtrack.

”X” looks like ‘Boogie Nights’ meets ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ with a better sound track. 😄 Can’t beat some good Foghat. 😎🎶
