The Expendables 4
Armed with every weapon they can get their hands on, the Expendables are the world's last line of defense and the team that gets called when all other options are off the table.
I really liked the first three movies, but this one sucked.
The addition of Megan Fox to the cast felt out of place. The plot is underwhelming, and it's filled with predictable moments. While the franchise has always been known for its over-the-top action, "Expendables 4" seems to cross the line into absurdity.
The Effects/CGI looked like a Direct to DVD B-Movie, not like a Blockbuster.
Oh man, the movie was shocking. Did you know this film had a hundred million dollar budget? Where did all the money go?
I agree about the new cast as well ... 50 Cent coming in as well ... jeezus. Why didn't any of the old gang come back? Where was Jet Li? Where was Terry Crews? Where was Arnold? It made no sense ... Also, why didn't Dolph lead the team when Barney was out of action? He was the most senior member of the team, after all.
And yeah, I think I said this in the Kantina, but Andy Garcia as the main villain? I'm sorry, no. And I'm saying this as a fan of Mr Garcia.

No Hard Feelings
Jennifer Lawrence is hilarious.
Love this film so much! The guy Jennifer's been set up to date is really funny as well.
I love when the guy Jennifer's been hired to date teams up with his friend to take out Jennifer's car, and they're hitting the car with a wrench but not a lot is happening. Then the guy's friend goes, 'goddamn American made ...' Totally hysterical, love it.

The other day I caught a great docu on Hulu, ”Kurt Vonnegut : Unstuck in Time” 2021
A great guy and author, with a great story. 😊👏👏👏 …..
I saw this one. I'm a big fan of Kurt and thought the doc was fantastic. I really enjoyed that one.
I’ve come across a few really good docu’s on Hulu recently.
”Batman and Bill” is another good watch, though a rather sad story, about Bill Finger.
ohmygod…the one about Scotty Bowers 😳 That was crazy. Very well done and interesting.

A Haunting in Venice
Now retired and living in self-imposed exile in the world's most glamorous city, Poirot reluctantly attends a seance at a decaying, haunted palazzo. He soons gets thrust into a sinister world of shadows and secrets when one of the guests is murdered.
An exceptional creepy whodunnit. All around spooky with candle-lit castles, a séance gone wrong, and tales of mischievous ghost children on All Hallows' Eve.
The movie’s visuals capture the eerie beauty of Venice, especially in the night scenes, creating an otherworldly ambience.

Started "Leave the World behind"
A family vacation on Long Island is interrupted by two strangers bearing news of a blackout. As the threat grows, both families must decide how best to survive the potential crisis, all while grappling with their own place in this collapsing world.
Had to stop after 25 minutes, because Julia Roberts Character is an utter nuisance. She really pissed me off. Gaaaawd.
Started "Polar"
The world's top assassin, Duncan Vizla, aka The Black Kaiser, is settling into retirement when his former employer marks him as a liability to the firm. Against his will, he finds himself back in the game going head-to-head with an army of younger, faster, ruthless killers who will stop at nothing to have him silenced.
I didn't know what to expect, and tbh, i was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this film.
Loved the cast, the bloody violence, the dark humor, the over the top moments, the characters, the sound, and cinematography.
If you're looking for a gory and ultra violent film that is over the top and wacky, you have to watch this.
The end cries for a sequel.

A great guy and author, with a great story. 😊👏👏👏 …..
I saw this one. I'm a big fan of Kurt and thought the doc was fantastic. “Daliland” 2022 is an excellent biographical movie on Hulu. Ben Kingsley is awesome as Salvador Dali. Really enjoyed that one too.
In one of the SK docu’s on tubi, I noticed SK found Charles Starkweather fascinating. I’ve found a docu about him on Hulu, I may check it out. (I don’t know anything about Starkweather) I think it’s titled ”The 12th Victim”.
The biographical movie about Truman Capote on Hulu was very good also.

I’ll have to look around and see if I can find “Polar”. 😊

I’ll have to look around and see if I can find “Polar”. 😊 Her character is the most self-centered, tiresome disaster movie victim since...yes, Andrea.

The most recent good movie that I've seen was The Holdovers. I'm not sure that Paul Giamatti deserves the Oscar, but I reccomend the film.

Stowaway
A three-person crew on a mission to Mars faces an impossible choice when an unplanned passenger jeopardizes the lives of everyone on board.
I would consider the movie a drama set in space and not scifi. The movie isn't exactly good on logic. The actors, the music, the scenario, and the execution were great from the beginning to the end, and the ending was beautiful. Pretty sad but beautiful.

The Covenant (2023) Jake Gyllehhaal
Excellent flick about a US sergeant that was in the Afghanistan war who goes back to rescue his interpreter and get him the visas he was promised.
You could cut this movie in half and make two good films from it. The first half is the Afghanistan war story about the sergeant and the interpreter and the second half is the battle to try and get the interpreter out.
