Sicario (2015) Josh Brolin
This movie is so good. It's on Amazon Prime right now. Josh Brolin's character heads up a drug enforcement task force that employs some questionable characters and methods to achieve their goals. Benicio Del Torro doesn't have a lot of lines in this but he is a force.

I recently checked out the John Wayne classic 'The Searchers' and thought it was brilliant.
I love the scene with John and his actual son, Patrick.

The Covenant (2023) Jake Gyllehhaal
Excellent flick about a US sergeant that was in the Afghanistan war who goes back to rescue his interpreter and get him the visas he was promised.
You could cut this movie in half and make two good films from it. The first half is the Afghanistan war story about the sergeant and the interpreter and the second half is the battle to try and get the interpreter out.
Whomever suggested this film to you, Joe, must be a hell of a guy and a Guy Ritchie fan boy.

That's a good one. One of John Wayne's best performances. Oh, yeah, I agree. A Wayne son, I forget his name, who I believe is John Wayne's youngest son, has a podcast and he talks about all of his Dad's different films and what he remembers his Dad saying about them. There's an awesome episode were he talks about the film in which his Dad played, and I'm not joking, Ghenghis Khan. And ... they filmed this film in Ukraine, and they also filmed it by a nuclear plant. Its an amazing, amazing story.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3
What a ride. It had everything and more that we love, the humor, banter, emotional moments and epic battles. Every joke landed right on spot, unlike the last Thor movie.

Bullet Train
Ladybug is an unlucky assassin who's determined to do his job peacefully after one too many gigs has gone off the rails. Fate, however, may have other plans as his latest mission puts him on a collision course with lethal adversaries from around the globe -- all with connected yet conflicting objectives -- on the world's fastest train.
A blast. One of the most exciting edge of your seat, ride on a train anyone will ever experience. A twisted, wicked, quirky, funny and sometimes gory tale.
Brad Pitt proves once again why he is Hollywoods man for literally anything.

Made In Italy (2020) Liam and Michael Neeson
A comedy/drama about a father and son trying to sell their house in Italy that they haven't been to in 20 years. Their wife/mother died in a car accident 20 years earlier and they had abandoned the house and ran away from the grieving process. They have to move in to the house to fix it up so they can sell it and they end up bonding and dealing with the things they didn't deal with 20 years earlier. I liked it. It's a bit lighter than what I made it sound like.

Charley Varrick (1973) Walter Matthau
A very good gritty 70s crime film directed by Don Sigel (Dirty Harry fame). Matthau seems like he might be miscast as a criminal in a non comedic role but he's very good. A group of bank robbers rob a small bank and come away with an unusually large amount of money. Turns out the money belonged to the mob and the bank owner was storing it for them. So the bank only reported $2,000.00 missing but the robbers got $750,000. The mob wants their money back and start hunting down the robbers.

Xtremo
Two years after the murder of his father and son, a retired assassin sets out on a carefully crafted plan to take revenge against the killer.
Brings nothing new to the table, the usual mafia revenge story. Poor actors, predictable and too unrealistic.
Only for die hard action movie fans.

Scream, Blacula, Scream 1973 campy Dracula film set in 1970's Los Angeles. This film is spot on with the clothes and hairstyles of the 70's. Made during the days of Hollywood's blacksploitation , exploitation of Black culture and actors.
Anyway, I think it's worth a view.

Suicide Squad (2021)
The government sends the most dangerous supervillains in the world -- Bloodsport, Peacemaker, King Shark, Harley Quinn and others -- to the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese.
An absolute blast,a non-stop joyride from start to finish. Witty, quirky comic book chaos, with over-the- top violence, ridiculous and funny dialogues, and outlandish characters.
"How would you like to have a dozen angry rats crawling up your a**h*le?” “My answer might not be what you expect.”
