We are watching National Lampoon
- Vegas Vacation - Chevy Chase, Beverley D'Angelo - it's from 1997 (on TV)
So what's up with that SKMB? I wonder if it will be closed on Monday too? That's Memorial Day in the US

Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia - Warren Oates (Sam Peckinpaugh directed)
I love Sam Peckinpaugh movies. This one wasn't well received when it was released but has a following these days.

The Edukators (Germany 2004) Daniel Bruhl
I watched this last night and I saw it once many years ago. A pair of young ideological guys commit non violent acts against the wealthy in an attempt to change things. They feel like they are the last of revolutionaries and wonder where the spirit of revolution from the 60s and 70s has gone. The girlfriend of one of the men joins in and one of their crimes goes bad and they end up having to kidnap a wealthy man to keep from getting caught by the police. The last part of the movie has the revolutionaries and the wealthy man holed up in a cabin for an extended period where they all defend their past actions (plus a love triangle complicates things). So the viewer has to decide whether to side with the young revolutionaries or the materialist wealthy man. It's an excellent flick. The last half moves a little slow but the characters keep it interesting.

Fahrenheit 451. It was simply atrocious. Avoid, particularly if you liked the book. Awful movie.

I really love the film, The Stunt Man (1980). And was watching it a bit recently on blue ray. You have to be in the right mood. I saw it first on laser disk in my father's home theater in 1994! With actual theater seats. He sold the house years ago, so the home theater isn't there anymore. Not for me anyway. But whenever I watch it, or pieces of it, I'm there.

This is not a movie - just a TV series - but I have been watching Mr. Mercedes when I get the chance, as I recorded the series. It's really quite good! Plus Mr. King has a cameo (not a speaking part, however)
Man I wish I had the snickering monkey right now.
That Brady is one sick character

I saw Hereditary. It was the scariest movie I've seen this year. I think Toni Collette should win an Academy Award for that role. She was already nominated for an Oscar for playing Cole's mother in the Sixth Sense. I also enjoyed her performances in the United States of Tara, Miss You Already, About a Boy, and Muriel's Wedding. I really think this is gonna be her year.

Watched Blue Jasmine on Netflix. Not a huge Woody Allen fan. Depressing AF, but Blanchett was superb.

I saw Christine tonight on Superchannel Vault - it's really quite good, even on a rewatch. John Carpenter is a great director and I loved the music and special effects. Attachment Deleted

I think so, too, Neesy. It's an under appreciated film. It is a faithful, streamlined adaptation despite the few changes Carpenter made about Repperton's death and the climax. Btw, how do we use spoilers?

Spoilers!?? I am still trying to figure out how to post without hitting the reply button... No kidding This forum is quite different from what we are used to. Of course I just HAD to make it more complicated by using my iPad plus I now have a cat sitting on my lap 😅 Typing with one hand is a bit slower 😜

Loved her in everything I've seen her in. Little Miss Sunshine was one of my favorites. Looks like she's got a couple more coming out this year. I still don't know if I'll go see Hereditary though - I read a spoiler!

Somebody watched the new Jurassic Park yet ? Don't know, if i'll watch it in the theater or wait untill the DVD release Watched Hidden It's a Horror/Thriller A Family is living in a bomb shelter after a Virus outbreak. The ending has a little surprise I cannot wait until the new Jurassic Park comes out - this Friday here in my town. I'm going with our youngest - we have already gotten our tickets online because the 6pm show will surely sell out. Because of the great effects I always try to see these in the theater. The Ogre and I went to the first on opening night sooo many years ago. It's funny - it scared him. Not so much that it was scary, but all the jumpy effects had him hopping out of his seat. He won't see them in the theater with me anymore.
