This thread is for you photos of parks you've been too (state parks, National parks, preserves etc). So if you have some cool park photos, post them here.
I had a job in Sebring today and took a detour over to Highlands Hammock State Park. They have a couple of cool catwalks through the swamps there. I didn't have much time to spend there today but I walked on one of the catwalks. I didn't see any alligators today but I'm sure they were there waiting for me to fall off the catwalk.

I posted this one earlier in the Cantina. This is at Jonathan Dickinson State Park and is of an alligator being stealth. There's a long shot and a close up.

This is a different alligator in the same park. You can barely see this one. At first I thought it was a stump but you can see in the close up shot, it's a head just barely sticking out of the water

The state park close to me that I go to a lot is Jonathan Dickinson State Park (gator pictures above are from there). I love to hike the trails in this park. The park is huge and there are many miles of trails for hiking, off road bicycling and equestrian. There is a trail called the Ocean To Lake trail that is 61 miles long and part of it runs through Jonathan Dickinson Park. It goes from the Atlantic Ocean to Lake Okeechobee as shown in the picture. The environment changes quite a lot on this trail from the ocean to the northern edge of the Everglades. I've been on a lot of the part that runs through Jonathan Dickinson Park and one of these days, plan on hiking on some of the parts to the West of me.

And a couple more. The trail is mostly scrub land in Jonathan Dickinson and will get much more swampy whenever I go west from here.

Went hiking Saturday in Jonathan Dickinson Park. This is on the West end of the park. Don't seem to have as bad of a pine beetle problem as the East side of the park. I've noticed that the tree damage from the beetles seem to be worse in the areas of the park with more white sand. Not sure if that's a coincidence or not.

I was hiking in Jonathan Dickinson Park yesterday and had a moment that freaked me out. I was walking along a trail and heard a noise that sounded like a rattlesnake rattle. It was only like one or two shakes, not a prolonged shaking. I turned around and about a foot or two from where I was walking was a rattlesnake. I know they are in this park so I always watch where I'm walking but look at how invisible this snake was. He's right by the pine tree on the left. I was walking in the middle of the rut closest to the tree.

Here he is crossing the trail. He looks to be close to 4 feet long.

In this shot, you can see his rattle. It's a good sized rattle.
