Yay!!! It sounds really cool in Germany tbh.Do youmean like Water Ships? My husband is from Ireland that's why we went there. He is from Belfast. I like traveling but we don't have all the money to go every were we want lol. I know what you mean. Traveling is very expensive. You can see all kind of ships in Hamburg but especially big container and cruise ships. The Queen Mary for example.
Ohhhh ok thanks for the help Frank. That's pretty!

pegasus2161 I spend a lot of holidays alone too (when my mom is with other family members). I've always felt much comfort from my SKMB friends. Thank God for this board now too. Know you are loved.

Last guests have gone, lying in bed now listening to Lights Out radio show. Hopefully I'll sleep for a few hours.

Finished off the tidying up this morning after yesterday's get together, place looks presentable again. As usual we prepared far too many vegetables so we bagged them and put them in the fridge which means I don't have to peel or chop anything today, just have to put them in the pots and cook them. Just going to have a cuppa now. Happy Stephen's day everyone.

I think Boxing day was when the masters of a household would give a box of presents to their servants and it was a day that servants didn't have to work so they could give their box of presents to their families and friends, the Irish just went with the more religious element and commemorate the life of Saint Stephen instead.

Plus it gives you an excuse to dress up like this!
What is all this about 'hunting a wren'?
I have another question - this one is for edwardjohn:
Do you know what a "clootie dumpling" is?

According to Irish legend Saint Stephen was in hiding and his location was given away by the presence of a wren and he was captured and stoned to death, hence the killing of wrens. That's just one take on it there are other stories about it.

Sounds like a good time Dizzy ! I used to love playing pool. Was never the greatest, but I had a lot of fun trying. That's something I really miss doing. My health and eyesight aren't the best anymore. So glad you had fun!

Of course, it's a delicacy in Scotland, is that yours? If so, I hope you enjoyed it!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas, I never got snow where I am which is a bit of a bummer but otherwise the Christmas celebrations were pretty good. Enjoyed Boxing Day as well, good fun. Got a lot of SK related stuff! Hope everyone had as much fun!
