Got up at 8:30 (I know it`s late)
Had breakfast, than lunch.
Took a walk in the afternoon, and watched some documentaries. Sounds relaxing - I slept in until after 10 a.m.
Trying to find a good recipe for spare ribs (I wonder if they can be cooked in the slow cooker?) - or maybe I will do them in the oven

Okeley dokeley, maybe the crazy squirrel can show me the way to your house. Nah - unfortunately he seems to have deserted us ever since Andy fixed that hole in the balcony - he probably went in search of a better place to live.
Today I don't have much planned - I still need to find a good ribs recipe but a lot of them talk about taking the "membrane" off the back of the ribs

Last time i tried to bake something it ended up like this.... (the lower image)

"Nailed it!"
As long as it tastes good, right?
Today I must venture out into the cold to do some shopping and also take Josh to the family doctor (final check-up on the two removed big toe nails)

Im going visit my mama an my little sister for Thanks Giving an to eat over there...my twin is coming with too. she only lives 3 blocks away from me but im not going to walk because its really cold outside.

Hello friends - I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving - and those of you not in the states - Wish You Were Here! (I'm listening to David Gilmour and that fits so well), Truly I do, though. Come for a visit. We had a nice day at my mom's. Good food, no drama, everyone was there.
I'm a bit on edge with her upcoming surgery - and my sister and I had some planning to do - how to get her there, stay with her, who is taking her home and staying there for a while - it feels sudden and wrong and like it's someone else's life right now. I'm a bit freaked out, but hanging in there - doing my part. I hope I don't look as scared as I feel. Next Thursday. Say a prayer for all of us if you think of it - I don't know if I can get back on the board that day to ask. Light a candle, do a sacred dance, whatever you got - I'd be grateful.
Speaking of David Gilmour - I pretty much HAVE to listen to Shine on You Crazy Diamond while I'm getting ready to leave the house every day. I like jazz and something about those horns at the end soothes me. It's kind of sad in content if you know who it's about and why, but it empowers me to embrace the crazy and rise to the occasion. I think everyone in the house is used to waking up to that song. For years now. I wonder sometimes if they will always think of me when they hear it.
neesy - have you cooked the ribs yet? Grill if you can, smoke them, you can even go low and slow in the oven. Google a youtube video. I don't like to cook them - I can't do it properly - I'm too impatient. Low and slow is very hard for me.
Dizzy - I don't think I've said hello yet so

Yes I did cook the ribs in the slow cooker and they turned out quite good - falling off the bone and very tender
I'm listening to David Gilmour (Shine on You Crazy Diamond) in the background - it's very good! Thanks for mentioning it.
So today is Black Friday but the only thing I plan to buy is some fresh lemons - will go get a bag of them; yesterday I did pick up a few little treats for this coming Christmas - Andy likes thin mints covered in dark chocolate so I bought some of those (imported from England la-di-dah); I also saw some shortbread stars so that was an impulse buy.
Will think of you next Thursday and say a little prayer for your Mom

My socks? lol - I think we mixed up hollygolightly 's socks with mine last time we did the laundry!

osnafrank thanks for that tip! I didn't know how to tag you either,! 😀 hollygolightly Prayers being said for your mom. And for you and the family too! I am going to finish cleaning up my kitchen from yesterday. The dishes are washed but still need to put them back in the china cabinet. And I was too tired to wash all the pots and pans after transferring food to containers for the fridge last night. So will do those and maybe a few loads of laundry. But I think I am going to spend some time curled up with Gwendy's Magic Feather today. 🙂
