cat I forgot all about that book! (Haven't finished Gwendy's Button Box yet.  ) Did you order your copy online? Wonder if B&N is selling it. Was there a few days ago and I should've checked.

Hello friends - I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving - and those of you not in the states - Wish You Were Here! (I'm listening to David Gilmour and that fits so well), Truly I do, though. Come for a visit. We had a nice day at my mom's. Good food, no drama, everyone was there.
I'm a bit on edge with her upcoming surgery - and my sister and I had some planning to do - how to get her there, stay with her, who is taking her home and staying there for a while - it feels sudden and wrong and like it's someone else's life right now. I'm a bit freaked out, but hanging in there - doing my part. I hope I don't look as scared as I feel. Next Thursday. Say a prayer for all of us if you think of it - I don't know if I can get back on the board that day to ask. Light a candle, do a sacred dance, whatever you got - I'd be grateful.
Speaking of David Gilmour - I pretty much HAVE to listen to Shine on You Crazy Diamond while I'm getting ready to leave the house every day. I like jazz and something about those horns at the end soothes me. It's kind of sad in content if you know who it's about and why, but it empowers me to embrace the crazy and rise to the occasion. I think everyone in the house is used to waking up to that song. For years now. I wonder sometimes if they will always think of me when they hear it.
neesy - have you cooked the ribs yet? Grill if you can, smoke them, you can even go low and slow in the oven. Google a youtube video. I don't like to cook them - I can't do it properly - I'm too impatient. Low and slow is very hard for me.
Dizzy - I don't think I've said hello yet so

Thank you friends for the prayers for my mom - I wish we were all meeting up for dinner somewhere this evening so we could really chat - with proper eye rolls and hand gestures, good food and drinks. We are Ka-tet.

Today - the Ogre and I got the grocery shopping done - no Black Friday shopping for me. Since everyone else in town was at the mall and other shops (Kohls, Wal-Mart, Target, etc) the grocery store was a ghost town - we were in and out and got the week's groceries. I will Christmas shop online - I can't handle the stores this time of year. The crowds are madness and I get overwhelmed and confused and cannot focus. After we got home, I played sous chef while he made his Irish Beef Stew. I'm going to make some corn bread here in a little bit to go with it. I got a fruitcake a the grocery that I'm very excited about. We're watching football now. Ben is upstairs playing guitar. It's a good day.

I know what you mean Dizzy, I sometimes get lost in a book as well, time can get away from you when you're reading. We don't do Thanksgiving here Dizzy, I live in Ireland, Christmas is our big celebration. |

Never read a Saul Book before but i heard he`s a good writer.

Thank you Notaro. I going to start reading again soon...sometimes I get really into the book an go stay up way later then I should because I love reading stories I have never read before. Did you havea good Thanks Giving too? I know what you mean Dizzy, I sometimes get lost in a book as well, time can get away from you when you're reading. We don't do Thanksgiving here Dizzy, I live in Ireland, Christmas is our big celebration. |

Found a John Saul Book called "The Unloved".
Never read a Saul Book before but i heard he`s a good writer.
I never heard of him or his books but I probably will check them out sometimes though if you heard he isa good writer.
