Does it have anything to do with Oscar the grouch from Sesame Street?
I love that mug. You're pulling my leg, right? In a long far away when ago, in the Ka-tet Cantina of eld, now long devoured by the Langoliers',
there was a morning of mine that I came clunking, wearing big black boots.
(......mmmm......or maybe I was bounding in through the dog door again.I can't recall exactly what particular disruption I was causing that day.)
I looked around to see who was up with me, and the first thing I saw was a verichrome realistic animated pic of a squirrel.
He was the coolest thing I had ever seen, sitting there at the bar raising his little arm over and over again drinking an icy cold looking mug of beer!
My good friend PatriciaA (Purrrrtricia) had brought him to the Cantina. Just like she had so many other wonderful posters and other things before. I loved him immmediately! And promptly dubbed him Oscar, because I thought he was pretty 'Wild'! And he has been my good drinkin' and epicsode buddy ever since.
Back in those days the Cantina was grand, it still is too! Just in a little different way
The above was copied and pasted from Tet-Mates Writing Creatively over at the SKMB
I remember Patricia and I understood you saw her avatar as Oscar - but I just did not make the connection between this and all of the squirrels in the world.
Speaking of squirrels we have maybe three of them right now running along the fence out back.
One came close to the deck today to get some bread and Andy stomped his foot and scared him away!

I'm just lucky I guess, we all kinds of birds around all the time. Pairs of Doves, blue jays, cardinals, mocking birds, black birds and grackles, purple martins little sparrows, a few other types of small birds I don't know the name of. Sometimes a woodpecker comes through, and a few crows now and then. Plenty oscars too of course, they all get along. There's a creek close to here, sometimes we see possums, racoons, rabbits and turtles. But not too often, they like to stay down in the brush, unless the rains cause the creek to rise to bridge level. We have had a pair of beautiful hawks too. Always keep a close eye on the cats when they're outside. Driving home from school one day with my son, we turned onto our street, and right there by the curb was one of the hawks, dining on a squirrel. Seen him come flying down low right under the trees. Yeah around where I live we call all this animal stuff, outside!!!
When I was young we talked about the car, or on rare occasions cars, in the same way as most non rural dwellers do animals. Times have changed some and there are definitely more cars now but the animals have learned to co-exist for the most part. Birds are everywhere and most country folk can tell by their song what type it is. A fox has been frequenting the front yard at dusk for the last few weeks. It's time for them to have young ones so they venture out a little more. Deer same way as they have to eat even more cash crops to feed their babies. Squirrels? Squirrels have their own language. Different barks for danger from above (as in hawks) and below (as in humans) as well as an all clear one. Can't tell y'all what happens to them in mid winter. Let's just say better with a LOT of gravy. Don't get me wrong I love to just watch wildlife occasionally but country folks seem to look at animals more like groceries than others do.
Is this serious enough morgan???
See I can be somewhat normal...Not as much fun though...

Hey Neesy Pat (PartriciaA) had a pretty kitten Avatar back then, it's different now. Remember when you, Spidey, Ms.Mod and I discussed it in "May birthdays" not too long ago. I never saw that kit as a squirrel. Pat was grand wiz at posting pic's and animated pic's like you and Frank do! There's also another mention of the 'oscars' towards the end of the post that follows the one you copied and pasted here. The confusion is completely my fault, I'm not that great at explaining and describing. I appreciate you and others pointing out my errors and showing me my place. That way I can improve and take it. ....older wolf happily learning from failures and moving on to better. Have a great week Nees! See you on the SKMB

Hey kidd and morgan, hope y'all have a great week. Sorry I missed y'all yesterday. Kidd! Wild rabbit is some kind of good eatin', "Rabbit Chow" raised and store bought rabbit is the most disappointing thing I've ever eaten. I used to go rabbit hunting at my uncles place. Lazy old fart never did get around to taking us deer hunting though. Snake is good snackin' too
Sorry morgan! Don't feel too bad about the fur babies, Think about it this way : their numbers can't be let get out of hand. We carnivores serve the ecosystem.
I hope you got the more sleep you needed and are more rested. See y'all later.

Two things that have rarely happened to me...

Have eaten almost everything wild except snake...
Didn't mention cottontails but they are better than chicken...
But I know not for everybody...
It's just different if you can buy it at Wallyworld prepackaged...

Only time I ate rabbit was at Christmas. My cousin was a hunter and he would always give my mom some rabbit, which went in our meat pies.
~~~
Yesterday I got out my sewing stuff and made my skirt. I think it turned out OK. It has pockets. 😁 One pocket will fit my phone, and I can out my epi-pen in the other, but I’ll have to out some little clips to keep it closed.
Bravo annamarie ! I love the skirt - a skirt or dress with pockets makes me gasp with pleasure every time!! Are you standing on your bed taking that picture? Too cute!!
Today was a busy work day. It was 9pm before I got dinner cooked. Having a cocktail now. Getting ready to go watch the Great British Baking Show until I fall asleep. I keep trying to make it through the trifle episode. I want to make a trifle soon. I bought a dish in the GW that i want to use.
A funny thing happened the other night. When the dogs are roaming the backyard at night and I want them to come in, I turn off the lights in the kitchen, put on my headlamp and find them in the dark. It's all woods behind our house so there's no light back there at all. Well, I found their two pairs of glowing green eyes and then another pair higher up over the fence line - and they were looking at me. Yikes!! I was frozen. I though it might be a sasquatch. Since it was taller than the fence. But then I got a glimpse of white striped tail - lemur? Surely not, but it was my second thought - It seemed too long to be a raccoon but I'm pretty sure it was a raccoon. Creeped me right out for a few seconds though when I was thinking it might be a sasquatch though.
wolf HHAHAHAHA T O M - that spells that's our Mal!! I will just say that I wasn't properly caffeinated before I wrote that post. Oblivious to the obvious.
Firstly, as always, an interesting post with amazing tangents (yes I know what that means)…
Secondly, I have been in the woods almost as much as I have indoors...
I have seen thousands of green glowing eyes...
Not one pair has belonged to a sasquatch so...
Relax Holly...
Probably just a peeping Tom...
