Taking a break from reading and crocheting instead. Found a different stitch and trying it out. Moss Stitch. Simple and easy. Just my speed!!
Hey spideyman - any idea if this stitch can be used to crochet squares? I like to do those as they are small and can be a portable project to take with you anywhere, then sew together later into a blanket or afghan.
Enjoy the crocheting - it's supposed to be good for the brain!
I just realized this little guy is knitting, not crocheting
Speaking of reading I finally got around to reading "The Long Walk" by Richard Bachman yesterday - Wow!
I will change my answer in the Weekly Survey - in that I said 'sure - why not?' when the question was whether or not I could do a "Long Walk". Now having read the book, I think I will change my answer to "No way in Hell!"

Do you recall a member called OutofOrder? (he was a lot of fun)
There were so many that don't come around any more. I understand that every time the Board changed it seemed to get harder to navigate for some people so they quit.

What a numpty! I had it in my hot little hands but I put it back on the shelf

No. I was not aware of any of that. Very bad joke I made, NOT well thought out. I apologize. I did not come back to the board until April 24,2019. Thankyou for correcting me Neesy. I'm sorry. Got carried away with kidding around. I will be far more careful in future......funny, I'm one of the least computer saavy around, and I had no problem.

In fact I thought this whole controversy over Miley was quite silly and I even tried to stand up for the poor ninny. (Sorry if I gave that impression wolf ???
(I was never into whatever show she used to star in).
Don't worry about offending me or making a bad joke.
Anyway - to change the subject Andy and I went out for pizza and hot drinks (he likes English breakfast tea) then did a bit of grocery shopping.
I cooked that strange sausage called "white pudding" but it's not really like sausage at all.

Do you know what to do with this stuff?
Black(blood pudding) and white puddings. If she had either of those gran would slice it in discs and throw it in a pan to fry. Notaro knows far MUCH more than I do. Just saying what I know and have lived with. Being very far from Ireland myself as you are. I make a decent "fry" (a plow mans breakfast) on early mornings when it's so very cold. GreatGran and gran used what we had here available in this region. Our sausages are much different. I got "bangers" once from a brittish (NOT Irish ) import store, horrible things to me. Seem to be filled with more "filler" than meat. But that is only because I am not accustomed to them, and won't be able to appreciate them the way people who grew up with them do. Right me wherever I'm wrong Notaro.
You may not have been correcting me, but you gave me a good reminder, and made me straighten up and be more careful about what I say/write. Thank you lil Neesy I would have been far better off telling Dio : "...so kiss my a**" with a wink. That would probably be more readily accepted and passed over. It's so sad and such a pain in the arse when PC gets unreasonable. You did nothing wrong Nees. I just need to come out of the stoneage a little bit more. (heck, I still say emoticon, emoji just doesn't roll off my tongue quite right) I couldn't care less about Miley, she's simply the poster girl of twerk. I do like her song "Wrecking Ball" though.
ohhhh.......I hear the thunder coming just now! Have a good night Nees, your deck and back yard is far prettier than my Patio, but I have a 250 sq. ft. carport cover, and I can go outside and sit, watch the wild weather and stay dry! Love you darling and see you later! I'M GOING OUTSIDE!

Hello Friends!! Gosh I've missed you all!
@dio'bolic yer in trouble (mental condition). You better hide. I'll see your chipmunk problem and raise you a murder of crows. It started with the squirrels. The squirrels were eating the bird seed and I wanted them gone. Plus they drive the dogs nuts. The dogs watch them from the window all day long and scramble to get out the door to chase them. So the Orge got the squirrels some peanuts hoping they'd leave the birdseed alone. But someone told the crows that the man growing all the sunflowers just started throwing peanuts in the yard. So now we've got 5 crows here daily - eating peanuts. I kind of like them but they are huge. And noisy. Did I tell you about TC Boyle's short story that had a genetically bred bird that was a cross between a crow and a parrot? OMG, they were foul and funny.
Is everyone OK - I'm certain I've missed some big things? I read that pegasus216 is not well. I'm heartbroken to hear that. Praying for her comfort and peace.
neesy - I missed wishing Andy happy birthday - give him my regards! I like hearing Andy's cooking tales. He's got the best words for things. I hope he's doing well after his recent health issues. Josh - how is he? And how are you?
spideyman -I hope your daughter finds a job soon. I'll include her in my prayer intentions. I'll see which Saint might the be patron of jobs/careers. That'll be the one. I like St. Brigid. She's my go to. And St. Patrick. And St. Michael the Archangel. And St Augustine. But they're all something else. Common folks doing some supernatural things.
wolf - You and I are kindred spirits. My husband calls me Oblivious to the Obvious. It's true. But like you, I got nothing but good intentions and I think everyone else does too. Nothing wrong with that. And I've seen it turn a mean heart kind more than once.
morgan and doccreed - I've started many long PMs and decided best not to burden you. I'm OK. I hope you're both OK. I talk to you in my head all the time.
Sundrop @doyoulove @osnafrank (Admin) I'm still not doing it right. @thekidd72 @notaro annamarie How are you all ? So many my tired brain isn't thinking of and so many of our SKMB friends haven't made it here yet. We'll be like Mother Abigail, just waiting. They'll come.
All y'all , the collective y'all -
I can't remember what all I've read about everyone, so if I haven't mentioned you, it's just my blasted faltering short term memory.
As for me, other than the fabulous week I spent in Fall Creek Falls with the Ogre, all is pretty much status quo here. I'm sitting here finally getting caught up on the board whilst the Ogre and 3 of his co-workers work their way through a bourbon tasting party. They were here from out of town working on a project all weekend, and he invited them over for dinner (he cooked, that never happens - he made a sausage plate - is that a Memphis thing? It's grilled polish sausage, cubed sharp cheddar cheese and cubed kosher dill pickles, assembled on a plate and sprinkled with local dry rub. I'll try to post a picture.). And they are all fully loaded now - there are several bottles on the table - at least they have a designated driver. Poor Kevin - sober and playing the piano - I think he's playing Figaro? But one of them is calling it Vittalo - ah, they are fun, now singing "vitallo vitallo, viiiitalllloooo!" I've got my earbuds in listening to some Sting because they are very loud and funny, but I'm several drinks behind and not that level of entertaining yet. Let us pray I don't get there before they leave. We all have to work tomorrow. One of them is from St. Louis and I think, if he remembers committing to it, that I've got us a place to stay and someone to go to a concert with us in St Louis on July 30th - if I can score a place to eat and sleep everything else will fall into place. I need to text him a reminder. I want to see Blackberry Smoke. I've really got a thing for that band. So, that's about it for me. Y'all are my friends and if I'm not here talking to you with regularity, I'm just working and busy with practical things. I don't get out much otherwise. I did go to an out of town wedding yesterday. My very best friend from since I was 11 - her son got married. I just love her and so I love her kids. That was fun. I couldn't stay for the big bash afterward - it was a 2 hour drive for me, but I'm glad I went.
I'm going cruising other areas - to see what I've missed, what you're reading, watching and listening to.
Wish you were here.
here is Rendezvous Sausage plate - I don't put peppers on mine and I cube the pickles, but you get the idea. Come eat at Chez Holly.

Good morning neesy, white pudding, Wolf is correct it's a breakfast thing, cut the pudding in discs as shown in the picture and fry in the pan along with sausage and bacon, I prefer to cook them under the grill myself, I think frying them up in a pan makes them a bit soggy, but for a true "fry up" everything must be done in the pan. I've never been to the States or Canada so havve never had and of the sausages Wolf describes but they do sound far nicer than what we get over here, ask Andy what he thinks of the difference, what he would get in Scotland would be similar to what we have here.

I had a subpar day. Barely slept last night and had to work two jobs today. Felt completely discombobulated and somewhat sick. But my mom had a decent day and the critters are okay, so I'm focusing on the positives. Which always reminds me of spideyman ! I was able to get a couple homeopathic pain remedies for my mom for free for doing some work in exchange. She felt a little relief and for that I am grateful as well.
Praying you all sleep soundly. Not sure how long I will be awake.
So nice to hear from you hollygolightly - I miss you a lot.
Big hugs to you all!

Do you have scotch? And you seem to be picking up on that sarcasm thing rather quickly. Will this do? (It's a lovely single malt Scotch)
I bought this one for Andy as a reward - he had done quite a bit of work outside (this was before the surgery)
(Don't forget to clicky on the pic to make it bigger - by the way - you can see my Hooters mouse pad!) it's in the bottom right hand corner
Excellent taste in scotch and mouse pads.

Mental condition…. ME? Pshaw on the crows. I’ve got a million of them. They come in gangs to chase off the other birds and empty the bird feeders. All the colorful. singing and happy birds are gone. Now I’ve only got a band of black evil in the yard. Crows, red-winged blackbirds, grackles, brown-headed cowbirds and starlings. Only blue jays and sparrows are brave enough now to try and get an occasional bite before being driven off. Throw in a bunch of squirrels and chipmunks and our lovely feeders have become Hell’s Kitchen. Even the wife has said it might be time to fire up the old bb gun (don't worry... little kid's low power bb gun... no accuracy, more to just scare them off).
