I haven't done much yet today but I did go to that spin class yesterday - turns out I was the only one who showed up. So lucky me I got the instructor all to myself
Dave put me through my paces - I was sweating and all red in the face when that 20 minutes was up.
It was like having a personal trainer but the good thing is - it was free! It went from 12:10 until 12:30.
Before going there I had had a little nap then a long soak in the tub with Epsom salts that were infused with eucalyptus, so I must have smelled like a koala bear once I got my heart rate up.
This is Dave who helped me - showed me the proper seat height, how to adjust the tension etc. He's so fit! Hard to believe he has three granddaughters already!
He's the one on the right (he works at HSC Fitness Centre) - I've know him since 2010

Sounds like a good day to me neesy Oh yeah - I was pretty pumped up - when I got home Andy sort of picked up on my energy and we went out (after I changed my shirt and washed a bit)
Now today I think I should go out to the garage and unlock my bicycle (hope I can remember the combination!) but the streets are still very icy so I might just go down the back lane for practice.
The tires might need to be inflated a bit too

It hasn't been the best day so far. I think I'll cheer myself up with a browsing trip to B&N. Maybe even order one of the delicious strawberry acai refreshers from their cafe.

- I went out to the garage but forget my 3 digit combo for the bike - I had to look up a certain squadron in Eastern Canada so I could remember what it is!
Andy has taken some paperwork to the doctor - it's a preop as he is going to get this huge lipoma removed from his right arm.
It's just a day surgery - if you've ever watched Dr. Pimplepopper on TV you've probably seen a lipoma removal before.
I have some laundry to take out of the dryer then I really should dress up warmly and go for that bike ride (hope I don't fall off and land on my bum!)

neesy !! Yay for you on the spin class!!! I thought I was gonna die at my first class - but at some point the endorphins kick in and it feels great!! Nice looking instructor. My first instructor was a handsome man. The class I go to is a split - 30 mins on the cycle and 30 mins of strength training - weights, sit ups, planks - it's agonizing, but very rewarding. I could throw a mighty punch if I had to. I couldn't run for my life, but I could ride my bike away really super fast. Keep at it!!
morgan - I'm sorry you had a bad day. B&N and a refreshing drink should fix you up (bring your flask for an added boost!) .
Thursday we had a funeral - so that was a chaotic busy day. And that night I had tickets to go see Fiddler on the Roof at the Orpheum (with my boss & his sisters). OMG - I loved it. I'd never seen it before. It was comical and the music and dancing were fabulous. I liked it better than Le Mis for certain. Le Mis was beautiful, but quite a downer. This was mostly funny until the end.
Somehow Friday was busy too. I was just running behind all day and went to bed at 9. Saturday we had a wedding, and I had to facilitate at a retreat, and then went to evening Mass, cooked dinner, did laundry. Early bedtime again - I'm so much fun. Today - I teach at noon, and then we're going to a tailgate party with friends, but not staying for the game. And poof - the weekend is over!!
My lil grandpiggie Lola MIGHT be sick. I thought she had bloat but the vet thinks it's pyometra - infected uterus, ovaries, etc - from not getting pregnant when she was in heat. But he didn't do any diagnostics and wanted to do a $700 surgery. I asked for antibiotics - and she's doing better, but we're still nervous. I love our guinea pigs. They're like little birds with their chirping and wheeking and they just love to be cuddled. They are the perfect cure for sadness and anxiety. She doesn't seem sick at all anymore, but you know...
morgan I watched the new Project Runway - I enjoyed the runway part just because I like fashion shows, it doesn't seem like Project Runway without Tim Gunn.
I hope to see you all back here tonight!! Have a peaceful Sunday.

My great aunt called me and said she wants to give me her father's (my great-grandfather's) old piano. His name was Edward Chaney and he's the one who is directly related to Lon Chaney. He was moderately handsome and gregarious and a neat dresser like Lawrence Welk. He loved sitting on the front porch in the spring listening to baseball on the radio and he prized his roses and other flowers. I've been told they lived in a nice home in an era when Birmingham dairy trucks delivered milk and ice to their door most mornings. I have B&W pictures of him circa 1951 playing this piano in a suit and bow tie and another picture of his daughter, my grandmother, Shelvie in a simple white wedding dress posing at the same piano with Easter lilies behind her. She was married in April and the dogwoods were in bloom and I imagine children plundered through wet grass searching for colored eggs the following week. I have another picture taken the same day of my grandfather, one leg propped on the brick steps, flashing his socks and his James Dean swoop blowing loose- he is smiling and minutes away from saying 'I do' to my grandmother. My great aunt says the piano has been tuned and I can come pick it up soon. My heart is full. My eyes have raked over these old photos for years, searching for clues, and now it will be nice to have a concrete part of my own family's history gracing my living room.

Doc, that is so cool. Enjoy it! I wanted my grandmother's piano after she passed away. But I felt weird about saying, "I want that!" and waited too long to ask. An aunt took it. Which is A-Ok. Another grand-daughter has gotten to enjoy it. π
Holly, hope your guinea pig gets better!
I have spent my birthday reading. Getting ready to head over to oldest son's, they are making me dinner and cake. Hubby had to work today so he will meet us there when he gets in tonight.

My mom had to take somewhat of an emergency trip to Missouri to see her brother, so I've been critter sitting since yesterday morning. I have to stay at her place while she's gone because her dog is so sad and confused. It was only a few months ago that her sister/pack mate passed away and my mom's never been away from her overnight before. So she is extremely worried and the look on her face yesterday just about ripped my heart out. She just wanders around and whimpers. And lays by the door waiting for her mom.
So there isn't much sleeping going on here, to say the least. Had to give her melatonin at 4 a.m. this morning. Can't wait for my mom to get back on Sunday night so we all can sleep and try to get back to "normal."

Currently on top of my roof after finally finding a way to climb on top of it. My mom told me to get down, but my dad told her to just let me have fun (heheh).

@wayoftheredpanda That is some classic old school music! Hope you had a great time! I am a ZZ Top fan from long ago.
Today we had a reception for my son's high school graduation! Woo hoo - he's done with all that high school business!! What I did was send a reception invitation to everyone who got a Graduation announcement -there were 690 graduates so each family only got 8 tickets to the event- so I couldn't invite everyone to graduation - thus, the reception. It was very small, though - a smattering of people from different parts of our lives. Interesting for sure. My boss came - God bless him! He's the best boss I've ever had.
I know my son is pleased it's all over- the reception AND high school. Onward - it gets better from here, son! I worked for a very funny southern man once - he had all kinds of sayings to sum things up. One of the worst things he would say about someone was "He peaked in high school". High school is just a moment - life is bigger and better. I enjoyed my high school journey for the most part, but it's hard for so many.
And so ends a 6 week period of back to back events and meetings and commitments for me. Hello summer! Tomorrow the only thing on my schedule is Mass and laundry.
Hope you all are having some nice weather and enjoying life.
