Fingers crossed - I take it in tomorrow (which apparently is Good Friday as it turns out) - I hope it turns out to be a Good Friday for me!
What are the results? Can it be fixed?Hi there - well it turns out it WASN'T Good Friday - that's coming up this Friday
Boyd Auto Body said it would cost quite a lot and they figured that due to the age of my vehicle that it might be written off by MPI (That's Manitoba Public Insurance) - so I took it to Midas for an inspection and estimate because the 'check engine' light had come on even though it's still driveable.
Long story short I called Boyd and cancelled my claim because they had not submitted it to MPI yet.
Today I am going to a different auto body place called Brunswick - they were recommended by James at Midas.
I spoke to Jerry at Brunswick on the phone yesterday and I am taking it in this morning. He says they will do their best to make sure it's not written off.
He's very busy and has a great BBB rating so I may have to wait because there are others ahead of me, but that's okay - I can use Andy's old 2003 Durango which is also in excellent condition for its age. I'm using it today to go for a dental hygiene appointment this afternoon.
Thanks for asking, by the way!
(Oh yeah - turns out my battery was only at 45% so that is why the engine light was on) After hooking it up to whatever machine they use to scan it, the light has gone off)

Well, it's a lovely morning here in the Georgia mountains. A little cool, but once the sun gets up it should warm nicely. Later on will be Movie Madness, of course, but for this morning I'm gonna head out to the garden and round up some tomato cages for a family member. They were Dad's and I'm sure he wouldn't mind me lending them out. Gardening is not one of my talents, so they should go to someone who can make good use of them.
I'm also thinking more and more about jumping into NaNoWriMo this year. I've even pinned the website to my taskbar and am updating Scrivener. The writing project I have in mind is a fanfic, something I've never attempted before. I've always been a bit reluctant to mess about with other people's characters, in other people's worlds. But as a writing exercise, and an attempt to get the machinery running properly again, I think it'll be okay. Anyway, the muse is insistent, so the desire is clearly there; who am I to argue?

I have never tried Movie Madness - can you explain it to me? Call me dense or something lol

The watchers get asked to select movies, and vote on that week's movie. It's great fun. I participate in every other one because I work every other Saturday and wouldn't get home in time. Give it a try sometime!

Had to go out to the garage and get my old Jeep Liberty boosted - it's been sitting for five days but apparently the battery is still good - yay!

I’m hoping I’ll be able to get around to working on the computer today. It’s been awhile. 🙂

Since it is National Truffle Day I thought about making truffles but they sound way too fattening so I will just stick to my cookies and muffins.
Going to do some shopping and will put my four new tomato plants outside to toughen them up gradually (get them acclimatized to the outdoors)
Will probably make the muffins

Hi Frank - any plans for your long weekend?
Today I am taking the old 2007 Jeep Liberty to the body shop to get it repaired - they came close to writing it off and paying me out for it, but I am very happy they've decided it is worth fixing after all (yay!)
This is what the poor old thing looked like before I went skidding on the ice in the back lane and hit the corner of somebody's stucco garage - only difference is mine has a sun roof

Hey, neesy
Going to cook Goulash tomorrow, and maybe take a walk on Sunday. I hope the weather holds up, so i can visit a swap meet on Monday. Good to hear they decided to repair your car. Hope it doesn't get too pricey. I've heard that Jeeps are expensive to maintain.
Wishing you and yours a peaceful weekend.

As far as this Liberty goes I have had good luck in the repairs department - I actually walked into a dealership today and took a 2017 Jeep Cherokee for a ride but I think all the used cars are overpriced now. (Didn't sign anything of course)
