If you're a writer, then you need to pay closer attention to your dreams. They are your greatest source of new ideas. Keep a journal. I know most King fans don't like Stephenie Meyer, but she wrote Twilight after a dream about a vampire. I used to keep a dream journal - life got too busy for me to do it with any regularity but I am constantly amused by the content of my dreams - such dramatic cinematography (for lack of a better way to say it). Just last weekend I had the most vivid dream about a comic/cartoon character - she kept popping up on all my dreams that night - she was very boring and her name was Dreadfully Drab Darlene. I've been playing with the idea of her. Both of my daughters are talented artists, but which one to ask? I'm not, but I think I could write some comedic scenarios - probably not a money maker, but definitely one of those "mom is so weird" stories to record for the descendants I was underwhelmed by Twilight and did not read any of the sequels, but Stephanie Meyer clearly had an audience and made a goodly amount of money with her sparkly vampire series. I respect it.

I just looked her up on Wikipedia - she has quite an interesting signature!

I had a dream that I got a new job at a major company. Then I started another writing project. I start new projects all the time. I just have to work on finishing them.

I was on facebook the other week and a post reminded me of Upper Heyford RAF USAF so I looked up some pics of my old base. I found one of my dorm but not my end of it. I found the old hospital and one I think is the hospital dorm. Sadly the PX is boarded up and fencing runs around the NCO club and other stuff I used to walk to every day is in decay. Then I read some comments below the pics and found there is a facebook site for those who did duty there. I joined the group. Then I looked for names I knew in the comments there.
Holey moley. There was a comment from Dena. When we first met in orientation we kept looking at each other. After everyone had filed out at the end of it she still sat on a gurney so I walked over and kissed her. We hadn't even spoken yet. It could have gone badly. It didn't. It didn't for quite some time. After that we sort of fell into bed together every time we danced at the NCO club. There were a lot of mornings I had to sneak out of the girls dorm in the early hours. We saw AC/DC Back in Black together at the Hammersmith Odeon. We had a lot of great times. And there she was like a friendly ghost from a near forgotten time.
I left this message-
"You were so wonderful and so funny. I wish I had met you when I wasn't young and stupid. I recall those days fondly though. Hey do you remember when the bus stopped on the way to the concert and when the guys lined up to take a leak some wise a§§ girls ran down the line pointing and saying things like "aw poor little fellow" and "hey what are you doing later"? We had some great times for as short as they were. I've thought of you off and on over the years and always with a smile. Good to see you again."
And yesterday she replied. She remembers me fondly. Yay! That's all I wanted. Just a little sentiment for times past. I have some feeling still for all of those I was intimate with. I don't exactly proclaim it when my wife is around but they sort of made me who I am as much as anything. It's nice to be remembered.

I'm a little daft...what's the USAF? Yes, it feels good to be remembered, even if NOT fondly. It's my contention that one would rather be despised than forgotten.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Eric Bloom not wearing sunglasses, what is he hiding behind them?

You have seen the base whether you know it or not. It's been in a lot of movies, Octopussy, Children of Men, Wonder Woman, Annihilation, and World War Z, off the top of my head. Yeah but I think I would rather be forgotten than be despised by a woman I had been that close with. Even those I parted on poor terms with I still feel affection for. And with Dena we had a lot of other sorts of fun too. And what is Eric Bloom hiding?

You may be right about somebody not wanting to be despised by a past girlfriend. A woman scorned and all that. That's a whole other Happy Meal, isn't it?

OK this is a regional thing and Sunny might could speak to it better...
On TV I HATE when people try to pronounce Appalachian State University or the same with the mountains...
The third A is soft people!!!
Unless used as a verb as in AppalAchia…
Please forward this as it weighs on me daily...

I'm sitting here looking at a TV screen showing a crackling fireplace
All I can hear are the sounds of the logs crackling as they burn
We actually have a log burning fireplace in our living room but no kindling at the moment - I need a lumberjack to come cut some for me! s007

If you can say the words, Apple At Chin.....put it all together, and there ya go! We take the pronunciation from the mountains that the Native Americans in the region called Appalachee. There is no long 'A' sound in it. Learn it, love it, speak it.
