Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam Where the deer and the antelope play; Where seldom is heard a discouraging word And the skies are not cloudy all day.
Home, home on the range Where the deer and the antelope play Where seldom is heard a discouraging word And the skies are not cloudy all day.
How often at night when the heavens are bright With the lights from the glittering stars Have I stood there amazed and asked as I gazed If their glory exceeds that of ours.

It's a quote from an old Traditional about the American West. The song is in the public domain which is why i didn't use quotes. I've been humming this all day for some reason.

I just saw on Facebook where Michael J. Fox announced that they finished filming Back to the Future IV and he's going to be announcing a release date. Anyone know more?

Doc:
Thanks for creating this thread - this is one of my "go to" threads on the SKMB as sometimes we just feel like saying something that's on our minds without really considering which category it might fit in to.
Example - I have so many random thoughts going on right now in my head:
- Andy - he'll be returning up North tomorrow so today we should do something special together - I'm thinking we should check out a place called the Amsterdam Tea Room as it is run by a Scottish guy plus they apparently have awesome tea and nibblies there.
Josh - he seems to be doing well at work and just got a $2 raise - yay Josh!
Me - still hanging in there - looking forward to getting those King Kon shirts in the mail in the next couple of weeks. - Hope they fit!
Incidentally I just found something I was looking for - it's a glass jam dish from Scotland. My Mom brought it to Canada in 1945 or 1946 after the war. At that time it was over 80 years old and had belonged to my Granny on Mom's side.
I had put it away somewhere safe and then for the longest time could not find it or remember exactly where that was. Just found it a couple of days ago (heavy sigh of relief).
When things like that happen you start to wonder if you're losing it. Glad to see I am apparently not losing it (not yet, anyway!).
Oh look! I may already be a wiener!

I don't know what I'm doing! Couldn't find a way to post without replying to another post. Hi! It's been a very long time. Want you to know I received a special "hello" from you from a SKMB board member. Thank you for thinking of me. Things have been tough, but I will keep on truckin'. Hope you are well.

About 15 years ago I worked with a Native American artist who gave me a raw (untreated) turquoise pendant. At that time he told me it was over 200 years old. I didn't wear it because I couldn't find a chain that worked with the vintage look of it. Found one that looks okay and have been wearing it off and on for the past year. I stopped by the Antique and Coin Exchange today to ask a question about something else and was wearing the necklace. The owner said it was indeed that old and if I took it somewhere down south where turquoise is more popular, it would easily be worth $200-$300. I wear it because I like it and it was a gift, but that was a bit of good news to end a rather crappy week.

I was told that spiders don't like the scent of peppermint. I am petrified of them so I've been dousing myself in peppermint essential oil before I go to sleep. I can tell you one thing for sure - mosquitoes don't mind it at all and will gladly chew you up.
