What has everyone been eating lately?
Right now Andy is chopping up many types of vegetables to put in the stew - it smells really good
Yesterday we had some buns with our meal (they started out as pizza dough believe it or not) but I changed my mind so they got rolled into dinner rolls.
I found an easy, flaky pie crust recipe I'm going to try soon. Do you make your own dough?
Tonight I heated the leftover crockpot chili. I made snickerdoodle cookies, too. Yes I do make the dough myself
Those snickerdoodles sound yummy!

In case anyone was wondering (lololol), you actually can make a roux and white sauce with unsweetened almond milk and vegan butter. Does it taste good? @#$% NO!!

Tomorrow is New Year’s Day. That means pork and sauerkraut. I always thought a lot of people followed this tradition but it seems it’s just a regional thing in these here parts. Apparently it was something started here by the Pennsylvania Dutch who believed eating pork on New Year’s Day brings good luck because pigs root around with their snouts in a forward motion, and we want to move forward, not backward in the new year. As for sauerkraut, since the dish is made with cabbage, it is considered lucky because it’s green, like money. Unlucky is eating poultry because chickens and turkeys scratch backwards, and we don’t want to move backward. The same goes for shellfish because lobsters and crabs swim backward. Also unlucky is beef because cows eat standing still, and this also doesn’t move you forward. Who knew New Year’s Day fare was such a complicated process.

I don't cook pork anymore since it gives my husband 'Pork Nightmares'. Well, we call them 'Pork Nightmares', be cause it only happened after he ate pork. He'd have terrible nightmares about ghosts chasing him and be mumbling in his sleep that They Don't Fight Fair. I think pork killed his gall bladder too, so - no more pork for him.
Tonight I'll pick up Chinese food, lots of rice and noodles- spicy General Gau Chicken.

Tonight we’re having chicken 🍗 drumsticks baked in the oven with honey mustard sauce along with some salad, potatoes baked in the oven with cheese and niblets corn on the side.
Andy doesn’t eat corn but Josh and I do so he’ll have bread and butter with his
I'm on this iPad at the moment so it’s hard to post

I just open the baked potato, dress it with butter, add the shredded cheese, then the chili so the cheese will get all melty, and top with a dollop of sour cream.

Josh had Atlantic salmon poached with white wine, lemon and tiny onions; not sure why I bought it for him but he did enjoy it a lot

Canned Food today, too lazy to cook something. What kind of canned food? (is it some kind of German specialty or something like Chef Boyardee Beefaroni?)

Spam, spam, spam, spam
To be honest I have had it fried but it has to be the real Spam (believe it or not there are cheaper substitutes out there)
