Tonight I made garlic knots to go with farfalle pasta with pesto sauce. Everything was going well until a big thunderstorm shut down the power. Baking garlic knots in the electric oven during a power outage.... I left the oven door closed and finished them when the power came back on. They were delicious What's a garlic knot?
I sort of have an idea - but this is the first time I have heard of them I cut raw pizza dough into short strips and tie them into knots. Then bake them until they get a toasty color to them. While they are baking, take 1/2 stick of butter with 1/2 cup olive oil, add lots of minced garlic, salt pepper and chopped parsley in a large skillet. Heat until the garlic is cooked, shut off the heat. Toss in the baked knots so that they are covered in flavor. Then serve. Drop parmesan cheese on top for extra flavor. They will not last long, but luckily 1 pizza dough makes about 32 of these treats.
I think I'll make them tonight!

I think I'll make them tonight!Sounds pretty good - sometimes when I make pizza dough I end up with too much and don't feel like making two pizzas - so next time I will try the garlic knots recipe to use up the dough - thanks!

I'm trying something different today - it's a Filipino style pork stew that I'm cooking in the slow cooker
It has a lot of vegetables and I sauteed the lean pork loin in the frying pan first to brown it - not sure if I will have it with rice or potatoes.
It's similar to the recipe above but I changed it up a bit
