Add ice or warm? I think a lot of people mix it with Coke. They even have a special cooler at the liquor store with bottles of Fireball and bottles of Coke. I don't drink soda, so the only way I've had it is as a shot. If you're a whisky drinker, it would probably be good on the rocks. Cheers! |

Actually I can't handle it. Whiskey makes me a little too much of everything. And I make all kinds of promises I can't keep. Dreadful stuff. But the Ogre likes it. I think he and his buddies only do shots or drink it over ice with a little water to "open it up" which is apparently what you are supposed to do with whiskey. Bloom it or something. The Ogre is a whiskey drinker.
Supper - I scalded the turkey chili. Well, half of it. I took half out because my son and I don't like beans in our chili. But I put beans in the other half for the Ogre and then turned it up too high and ruined it. So then I took the half I had saved and put beans in it so he would have dinner. I made our son a frozen chicken alfredo and I had watermelon and wine. But that's OK. I'm fine. Lil loaded, but just fine. You can tell, right? I'm too talky. I feel like I say "the Ogre" too much. But I've gotten used to saying it and saying "my husband" doesn't feel right. I even let it slip out of my mouth here on the other side of the screen sometimes. Oops.

I think when you refer to him as the Ogre, it sounds cute and endearing. Everyone can see how much you love him. I joke about hard liquor all the time, but really only drink wine. Thinking my "shot" days are well behind me. My mom bought a small bottle of tequila yesterday and wanted me to make her a margarita. I took the tiniest sip - it didn't turn out very well. My bartending days are long gone as well! Lol. Was worried even that tiny bit would upset my stomach, but I was okay. Was a bit concerned about my mom on the tequila train, so I high tailed it outta there before things went too Grey Gardens.  Still too hot to cook. I did make the slaw last night though and it turned out okay. There isn't much food here - won't shop on the weekends unless it's an emergency. |

Dinner tonight is leftover Chinese food. I have some frozen veggie egg rolls to pop in the oven - that will make it a little tastier.

What's on your plate, Doc? Is that fried okra? Never tried it, but think I would like it - love fried pickles! I like putting pickled okra and garlic stuffed olives in ice cold tomato juice. Kinda like a virgin Bloody Mary.

Kinda like a virgin Bloody Mary. All my uploads are small. I forgot how how I shared regular size photos. Yes, it's fried okra and beef tips over mashed potatoes with cornbread. That sounds like a healthy drink. I cook with tomato juice but don't like drinking it cold. |

I cook with tomato juice but don't like drinking it cold. I just looked it up and the ingredients for a Caesar over at the Mott's Clamato website. The use something called "clam nectar" - hmmm - sounds fishy to me!
