Homemade pizza for supper here tonight. Do you make your dough or buy prepared crust? I use Pillsbury Hot Roll Mix for the crust. The recipe is right on the box, just need oil and water. Knead it, spread it out, I use a rectangular cookie sheet. By the time my meat is ready it has risen just enough for a nice crust. I just use tomato sauce, sprinkle that with oregano and garlic powder, then add the meats and cheese.

Homemade pizza for supper here tonight. That sounds good - what are you putting on it?
Tonight we might go out to The Elephant and Castle - it's at the same hotel downtown where Josh is bowling this weekend.
Maybe we could then catch the opening ceremonies of the games in the ballroom.
I know that sounds weird as they have already started but I guess it was the only time they could get all the teams together. (it's at 7 p.m. tonight)

Hamburger, pepperoni and cheese. I would put vegetation on too, but I'm the only one who would eat it then. Ha!

We like onions, mushrooms, tomatoes etc. (sometimes pineapple - like on a ham and pineapple)
I know - that is sacrilege to some folks

Yep, peppers, onions...that is what I meant by vegetation. I adopted that from Scott. He will tell me, No vegetation! on any food. 😂

Pizza night here too. Not homemade though, Amy's organic from the freezer. Saw a recipe on The Pioneer Woman using prepared pizza dough in a cast iron skillet. It looked like a crispy pan crust pizza when she pulled it out of the oven. Yum!

I do remember that she baked it at a very high heat. If you ever make it, let me know how it turns out.

Okay - it's a deal - I would like to use olive oil but not sure if that is very good at a high heat so maybe will use corn oil or canola oil.
It would probably be good with just some different types of cheeses like Swiss, mozzarella, maybe some smoked Parmesan and a sprinkling of oregano and some parsley for colour.
Oh yes - and fresh garlic too!

You're making me hungry!
I have heard and read that olive oil isn't supposed to be used at high heat. Something about that it actually turns into a carcinogen. Yikes. I use grapeseed oil a lot.

It's solid at room temperature (I've actually put it in my hair, covered it with a plastic bag for half an hour or so, then washed it out with shampoo).
Pretty sure I have a jar of it somewhere - you can even use it on your skin!

I use coconut oil as moisturizer/lotion. You have to be patient though because it takes a while to soak in. My mom uses it on her hair too. She also cooks with it. I like grapeseed oil better for cooking because I can always taste the coconut, even though it is very faint. I probably wouldn't mind it in a dish that went with the coconut theme. Lol.

I think tonight's dinner will be faux chicken salad on spinach and cabbage with cherry tomatoes and toasted sliced almonds.

Re: grapeseed oil - is it expensive and can I get it at the local store? Maybe I will have to go to a place like VitaHealth or some other type of natural foods store.

Grapeseed oil is about the same price as decent olive oil. They sell it at the grocery store and even at Walmart around here. So you should be able to find it somewhere!

The dough made enough for two pizzas so I just made one then used the rest to bake a small (mini) loaf of bread
The crust in the pan was a bit crispy so maybe I should have taken it out two minutes sooner but for those who like a crunchy crust it would be nice (Andy enjoyed it)
