It took him a while ... Brian Cox has been talking about it for decades.
We'll end the discussion of independence here since it could become a hot topic. To be continued!

Watched The Devil All The Time, a tale of post war love, depression and murder. It has a terrific cast and everybody gives excellent performances, but I found the whole thing just too depressing to watch, I really struggled through it. It is good but be prepared for a tough watch.

I'm gonna hold off on this one--glad you mentioned that it's depressing because I don't wanna see anything like that right now. I would like to watch it at some point though.

Watched Straight Outta Compton. The story of the group N. W. A. I thought this was pretty good, even if you're not a fan of rap there's a lot to enjoy here. The performance were all really good. I liked N. W. A. 's stuff, they had some excellent tracks, it was interesting to see the story behind it all.

I went to see Tenet last night.....first time I've been to the movies since February, I think. There were only 5 of us in the whole theater.
The movie itself was just 'alright' for me, but that's fine. It was just great to go to the theater again.

Star Trek:Beyond
Best of the new ones I believe. A nice film if you're only looking for a fun silly time on a sunday night.

Compared to Star Trek Into Darkness, Beyond is a masterpiece. Simon Pegg does a great job with the script, its shame they probably won't be making a sequel.

Knives Out
The circumstances surrounding the death of crime novelist Harlan Thrombey are mysterious, but there's one thing that renowned Detective Benoit Blanc knows for sure -- everyone in the wildly dysfunctional Thrombey family is a suspect. Now, Blanc must sift through a web of lies and red herrings to uncover the truth.
Knives Out is a hugely entertaining ode to all classic whodunnit movies whit a wonderful cast. Daniel Craig is particularly fun.

Man on a Tightrope (1953) dir. by Elia Kazan.
Another killer Kazan flick, about a circus troupe that tries to escape the iron curtain. Fredrick March in the lead and Man! he’s always great—horror fans will remember him from his Oscar winning portrayal of Jekyll and Hyde. Funny side note for tv cowboy buffs, this one had both Cameron Mitchell and Richard Boone in supporting roles—you know, Uncle Buck from High Chapperal and Paladin from Have Gun, Will Travel? (You know Richard Boone played Pontious Pilate in The Robe? Weird.)
Anyhoo...the highlight of this one was delicious Gloria Grahame as March’s wife. Grahame is quickly becoming one of my faves.

TCM is an awesome channel. I just don't have much time to watch tv these days.
I remember seeing "Man on a tightrope" YEARS ago. Great movie.
I wish @notaro was around, he loves all the old verichrome flicks too! And he does have great lists of them to share. His favorite is "Kind Hearts and Coronets", an Alec Guinness film. Still here hoping to find that one, one of these days, and see it.
Always loved "Have gun will travel" Paladin! (...along with "Wanted Dead or Alive" with Steve McQueen. Chuck Connors! Lucas McCain, "The Rifleman!"...and a good few other tv series.)
I'd love to see "The Robe" again, great cast in that one. Including Victor Mature, who I think played Samson. Dang, it's been so long. I'd really like to see "The Silver Chalice" with Paul Newman again too.
Cameron Mitchell is a blast from tv and movie past!...like Darren McGavin, Anthony Zerbe.....David Canary....L.Q. Jones....and so many other really great character actors.
You're really bringin' back a lot of childhood memories of watchin' tv with my gran Muskrat! Thanks. 🙂

Maximum Overdrive is on Prime....and so is Trucks "Maximum Overdrive" was over the top, and rather campy. I liked it. Mr. King's cameo was funny as hell! 😋 "Trucks" was pretty good too. 😊

Me and the fuzzball just had a rewatch of Polanski’s great Fearless Vampire Killers. Always loved this flick, ever since I caught a late night showing of it on channel nine when I was, like, ten. Such rich production values for a late sixties comedy. Looks better than a Hammer movie. And funnier. But...hrrrmmm...I’ve always felt, in light of what happened to Sharon Tate a little later, there’s an unintentional extra level of creepiness about the whole production. Anyhoo, great movie.
