I re-watched Red Dragon over the weekend. Wow, is that good. I haven’t read the book since the early 90’s so I’m gonna take a detour from my SK reading list and re-read Red Dragon next. My husband remembers it much better than I do and keeps trying to talk to me about details that I can’t remember from the story. Gotta refresh my memory. There was another movie based on Red Dragon called Manhunter. It's not as good as Red Dragon but it's still worth watching. It was made in the mid 80s and I think it's a Michael Mann directed movie.

Yes, I saw that one ages ago. We looked for it on Roku last night because both my husband and I want to see it again. I think Googleplay has it, so it's on the list for movies-to-get-to-soon!

The Devil All the Time on Netflix. If you like Southern Gothic tales, this is for you. It's a great film with terrific performances all around. It also reinforces my distrust of not God, but religion.

Yep, I watched this back in the day. A really solid thriller, with a great performance by Will Peterson.
Gotta say though, the definitive performance of Hannibal Lecter remains Mads Mikkelson on the TV series.

Searching
David Kim files a police complaint in order to find his missing daughter, Margot. However, a string of hidden truths unravels when he checks her laptop.
A thoroughly enjoyable film with a great cast.
The whole movie is shown through computer and a mobile screen perspective. There is a huge twist towards the end, and one really funny scene involving a Justin Bieber concert. The movie is captivating, thrilling, touching with great story telling.

WHAT!? Red Dragon better than Manhunter, too much of that Florida beer I think, Joe.

As a Scot, nah, Brian Cox is Hannibal. Thomas Harris wanted Cox as Lecter in Silence of the Lambs. Tom Noonan's performance as Dolarhyde is stellar in Manhunter as well.

I like 'em both. I haven't seen Manhunter in a very long time, but I remember being freaked out by Frances Dolarhyde in that one, as well as in Red Dragon. He's just such a sad, creepy character. When I read the book Red Dragon years ago, there were some parts I couldn't handle. I'd have to put the book down, and get my courage together to go on reading certain parts, like when he puts mirrors in the victim's eyes.😱

I saw Ewan McGregor on Bill's show a week or so ago and it sounds like he's starting to lean towards independence. It sounded like his opinion on it has been changing recently.

We'll end the discussion of independence here since it could become a hot topic.
