That sounds great - did you stay in the military very long? I ended up being in for 21 years regular force then did 4 years as a reservist; after that I took training for Clinical Office Assistant at Herzing then eventually did a Medical Transcription Course at Red River College
Here's a pic from your Recruit Training Command place - did you wear a "cracker jack" suit? 
In hindsight I should've stayed in, but at that time I was an aerospace med tech which sounds very cool but it is 99% doing flight physicals and filling reports.
When I tried to switch they told me it was a critical field so I would be stuck for several years. I even offered to go to SEAL training, but they said no.
I was only in for 7, I extended once (3 years) so I had no reserve time.

Well you've got a good job now but I know what you mean - I tried remustering from Supply Tech to Admin Clerk for years - finally got the chance when I got posted to NDHQ
I think you made the right choice for you - for me I hung in there because I remember my Dad saying "You can stay in 20 years and get a pension!" Good old Dad - he always thought about the money (I miss him a lot)

That sun of mine NEVER drank from a sippy cup! But he sure figured out 'OTHER USEFUL THINGS' to do with them.

When he DID have water guns, it was ALMOST as bad as what he does with the garden hose!.... facepalm

It's a nice Spring day, not too hot or cold outside and there's no flies or mosquitos around yet. I have all the windows and the front door wide open, I'm sitting on the sofa watching TV and drinking a cup of coffee, minding my own business, and the sun is outside playing with his friends.🙂
Suddenly, out of no where, I get hit with a full blast of water from the garden hose!
YES!...right in through the front door!....me and the sofa are instantly soaked!🤣😝 😊
.....At least he's always had good aim, and made sure not to hit the TV and stereo.😄
OHhhh the future mom and dad are doing just fine!😄
