Is the vampire part of Sims 4 a mod that was created? Maxis made the vampires and gave them all sorts of various abilities like leveling up and being able to turn into a bat or mist or what have you. However, they obviously didn't give them the ability to kill by draining a human, the human just falls asleep, so I got a mod where they can kill or turn another without my consent, which I prefer. The game by default, the player has to decide, I prefer it happening on its own. Think the werewolves are next, the timing is right since the last add on added chickens, so they can have the werewolves eat the chickens or something. I have never made a mod before so I have no idea how it is done.

I have never made a mod before so I have no idea how it is done. It varies from game to game and the type of mod one is making. Hard to explain really since it varies so differently from game to game. Sims 2, super easy though, very easy clothing modding was possible and scripting, the scripting was also rather easy. Hardest mod to make, animations, and creepy or not, those who make sex animations for games like New Vegas, some may see them as pervy but we're talking about hours upon hours upon hours of work to make those animations and to align the bodies perfectly. I saw some sex animations for Fallout 4, those who made them must have spent months, they are beyond life like. But there's also non sex animations made, I use a smoking animation mod in the Sims 4 and even that took the moodder awhile to align the arm, hand, cigarette and mouth just right. There's a reason it took so long to get realistic rag doll physics in games, its just very time consuming to do the animations and most game companies didn't want to spend the money on the time it took, but then a few game companies did and the others had no choice to stay competitive. But damn, the Sims has some funny mods, that drug/smoking one is beyond amusing. You can give Sims traits now so if you want them to be good and nice, they act good and nice, but if they start hanging with other sims with bad habits, the drug/smoking mod will make them start smoking or drinking a lot, and the mod even adds addictions, so I have a Sim who is an alcoholic now. There is a rehab option however, so the Sim is currently in rehab. They did such a great job with the AI that it made the modders able to add so much.

Speaking of mods, another modder rescued the day. Gotta love it when the developers can't fix a bug and some guy who works at Starbucks manages to do so. No, I'm not implying Starbucks are dumb, I think we'd actually have far cooler games if so many game companies didn't expect every programmer to have a 4 year degree. Tons of smart programmers out there but they can't afford to get a degree, so they're left to modding when they could actually be making creative games, its a shame. Computer programming is one of the fields of work where college really isn't needed, its just the companies like EA and Activision make it a requirement when middle school are out there making better stuff than guys with a degree from UCLA.

We're gonna go retro for a a bit..
Not too long ago they made a brand new Double Dragon which was a remake of the first but with modern "goodies", not a really good sounding 80's pop rock soundtrack and updated graphics. It wasn't bad but it had a few bugs and the space levels were a bit annoying, but it was still fun.
Well Streets Of Rage 4 came out last year, and now its on GOG, DRM free..
The graphics of course are more modern but they don't look too fancy, which is what I'm confused about because Streets Of Rage 1 and 2 were like 5 megs, while 4 is 10 gigs, and while it has improved graphics, the graphics alone, there's no way that's even 4 gigs of the 10. I heard it has a lossless 80's sounding soundtrack, that can eat up a few gigs. But it does look like fun and the Steam reviews are outstanding in regards to the game, while the GOG reviews, not so much.
I'm in the mood for a retro brawler and I do prefer Streets Of Rage over Double Dragon, Rage had Blaze and she rocks... Sure, she's dressed like a girl in a 80's rock video but it was made in the late 80's.
Well its December and I xmas and all, so maybe I'll get it for myself..
BTW, love the snow..

Well I thought I'd be reviewing SOR 4 tonight but I chickened out, the requirements are odd, I may need to do some digging to see if anyone is having issues with the game due to the odd requirements first.
So maybe a review on it tomorrow... or maybe not. Today I found yet another bug in Sims 4, a bad one, causes massive lag but only happens in one area of the game. So I have to relocate one Sims family to a new lot to get rid of the lag. But that's always been one of the issues with games that have a level of open world abilities, some parts of the map can be bug free while other parts can be a bug mess... just way too hard to beta test huge maps, which is why GTA IV even after all these years still has several.

Is anyone here excited for the Game Awards on the 9th of this month? Not sure, haven't played any games released in 2021, was a slow year for me game wise, that's why I've been mentioning a lot of older games as of late. Oh, Neca is making "The Last Of Us" collectibles now, figured it was just a matter of time.

I found out Dot Emu, the ones who make Streets Of Rage 4, also re-did the original TMNT arcade game, looks like they just made some minor tweaks to make it a bit more modern. The down side, they only made it for the Switch, which is a shame. But who knows, maybe they'll port it down the road, it'll be a half assed port but that kind of game, its just a button masher, so no big thing.

I finally caved and got Streets Of Rage 4. Played for a whole 15 minutes and then ran errands and haven't played it again since Monday. I love old school brawlers and while I only played it for 15 minutes, it has the same charm as the first SOR, never played 2 and 3, and the same three characters and two new ones. Plays like the first one, a few basic fighting moves, which may be upgrade-able later in the game, not sure just yet, and the city looks like the an 80's gang land city just like other brawlers. I'm not sure why it has such high requirements, wile the characters look very 2000, the backgrounds have a really in depth look so that may be why. Anywho, Axl (gee, wonder where they got that name from), Adam, and Blaze are back and then they tossed in a few newb characters to use if one was to. Did anyone who played the original ever use Adam? I always went with either Axl or Blaze... Those who've never played the games, imagine Double Dragon's scrolling brawling action but with Street Fighter 2 like moves, like Blaze, she lives up to her name and can summon a blue blaze that does a lot of damage. So far, based on 15 minutes, its a solid old school brawler and Blaze does kick a*s. One odd thing about the game, it always reminded me of the first TMNT film, not sure why. Could be the fighting style, could be the city they're in, hard to say. Is it worth 25? Not normally but I support the DRM free movement and therefore I support GOG. As for Marvel's Avengers, haven't tried it yet but probably won't. Their only good moment came when they did a crossover with the X-Men in an attempt to boost sales of the Avengers comic, which lead to an iconic fight between Wolverine and Cap, people always wondered if his claws could cut through Caps shield. If I remember right, they couldn't but that was over 30 years ago.. I remember his claws catching fire from the sparks, and he just went even more rabid. At that point in his history, it wasn't revealed yet that the claws were actually bone laced with admantanium, most just assumed there implants, don't even think Wolverine knew until Magneto stripped the metal off of his bones.

My friend you should read more Avengers, lol. That's like basing your thoughts on Billy Joel strictly on 'New York state of mind'

My friend you should read more Avengers, lol. That's like basing your thoughts on Billy Joel strictly on 'New York state of mind' I'm aware the Avenger got better later, heard good things about Civil War and whatnot but in the 80's it was beyond tame, in between G and PG. Alan Moore dragged me to a non super hero place with Watchmen first, I mean on the surface they were heroes but he showed deep down they were a mess, and I loved how human he made them. Then the Batman stories he wrote, fantastic stuff. But then I took a break from comics for awhile and came back when Walking Dead was in its infancy, heard it was something totally different and those who said that were right. When characters died, they stayed dead, and there were no good guys or bad guys, just people trying to survive in different ways. Such a great comic for quite awhile... and the show was solid as well, it was the introduction of Negan that things kind of went south for both, the readers started to drop off, and the ratings started to swirl. But they should have had a quicker fight with Negan, quick time jump to where they had rebuilt communities and how the zombies were basically gone for the most part. I mean Eugene said in the comic, and I believe the show, they couldn't last forever since they were decaying as time went on, so all the living had to do was stay alive and hidden until nature did its job. Bringing this back to games, I still think Telltale's The Walking Dead, just the first one was great but when it comes to zombie games, State Of Decay wins because of how the save system works, when it works right, I mean it calcuates the days since the last time the player played and adds that time to how much time passed in the game. There's a sequel but I haven't bothered... don't seen the need for a sequel....

This is my fave Alan Moore story. Better than V, Watchmen, or even the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen View AttachmentHard to read all the text on the cover but from what I made out, it sounds like a blast... have to check it out. I haven't read all of his stuff, still need to read some Swamp Thing and League, and From Hell. Most of his work that I've read would be V, Watchmen, and Batman, think he also did a few issues of Spawn if I remember right, I know Gaiman created Angela but pretty sure Moore did something as well. Been such a long time since I've read a comic, be weird going back to them. Wish there was still a local shop, I liked to browse, the online thing, its just not the same.

speaking of Final fantasy, did any of you play 15? I've only ever played the first, which was a blast. They ran a clever marketing game with the first, they pledged that all RPG lovers would love it and that they were so sure of that, they offered it up for half the price a game went for at that time, with a money back guarantee. I dug it though so I never found out if they were legit on the refund thing or not, I mean no game company had ever done that before. I have seen what the newer games look like, talk about a difference... That reminds me, I haven't been keeping up with Alice. As I said earlier however, he's still in scripting mode, its gonna be quite awhile... so not gonna get all hyped up by always checking for updates.

And comics at 7/11, those were the days, even though they didn't have a whole hell of a lot.
The comic book and book industry have been slowly bleeding to death since 94, and they keep raising prices instead of lowering them in an attempt to be more accessible to those with a fixed budget.
Here's the funny thing..
Used book stores still do rather well in my city, its all the new book stores that went out of business.. hrmmm.
Wonder if my theory that they priced a lot of people away for new has any credibility... hrmmmm.....
And most of the marketing people, they're like from Yale and USC and what have you, go figure.
But I'm glad I got to experience the "year of the bat", it was probably the best 2 years for comic book stores and sales, that movie, then the TMNT movie, it just brought the masses out of the woodwork. Never happened again, but I dunno, maybe it was Burton casting a spell on people?

Been awhile since I've talked about playing a game other than Sims 4.
I tried Streets Of Rage 4 again but after about five minutes I realized 24 was a bit high for a basic old school beat em up side scroller.
And lucky me, King Of Fighters 14 was on sale, not a bad game, bit better than SF 5 but due to the fighters not all being to kick and punch, sone can only do one or the other, so there's more of a learning curve. With Street Fighter, its pretty simple, one can jump kick their way to the end in about 30 minutes, KOF bit more of a challenge. Those familiar with earlier KOF games, all the originals are still in play like the girl who wears the skimpy red outfit, Mai or something. But they also added a few new ones, Vanessa is one of the new ones and she's different, she can't kick, can only punch, so its going to take awhile to actually win matches with her since I rely on kicks and she can't kick..
There are so many games coming out in 2022, but many don't look all that exciting. I am looking forward to Saints Row but its more about the story, I wanna see how the whole start up business angle goes when it comes to the humor. Most Saints Row games have mocked politics and tv shows, sounds like the reboot is going to make fun of other kinds of things, so it may not impress me.. hard to say. Jokes about Uber and the gigeconomy, which supposedly are part of the story... bleh.
