I'm now 45% into Brutal Legend, would have been further along but I had to troubleshoot an issue with another game.
Now I have far more of the songs unlocked, about 55%, so there's still another 20-40 songs left to unlock, but I'm starting to see how they were able to afford to license so many different songs. There's a ton of songs but only about 20% of the bands were actually ever popular in a big way, so chances are, they licensed a lot of the obscure songs for really cheap, or they could have even gotten rights to use them for free because the bands figured they'd get some exposure in a mainstream game and maybe pull in a few new fans, hard to say.

That aside, just bought the RE2 remake cause it was on sale for dirt cheap on the Xbox store. I barely have any money left, I kept getting optimistic about job offers only for them to fall flat.

2 favorite games for PS1 from the 90's, that liked a lot....
And I found this movie tonight and watched it, not bad...
Going to check this one out another time, looks good.....
Another series that Sony could remaster on the latest platforms is the Syphon Filter series.

It looks pretty cool. I dunno what I'll play after Brutal Legend, may go back to State of Decay, haven't loaded my save in over a month, which means the way it impacts their lives based on the time away from the last save, most of my characters will be dead.. heh. But I still wouldn't start over because there's a catch, while one can have up to like 15 characters on their team to go to if another is injured or dies, one really only needs 3 to beat the game, its not all that difficult to beat. Don't remember if it has difficulty levels, think the difficulty builds up as one beats it and then re-play from the start. Been awhile since I played it all the way through...

Don't remember if I ever mentioned this before on here. There is rumors flying around about a new remake of the original Metal Gear Solid game coming to the PS5.

Finished both Leon and Claire's campaign, excellent all the way through, 10/10, beats Village for my new favorite Resident Evil game. I've heard the Nemesis remake only really has prettier graphics and makes the game a lot more linear and therefore shorter, compared to the 2 remake which adds content including more characters and story besides the change in graphics and control style. So, because I don't wanna spend $60 for a game that reportedly takes 4 hours at most to beat at a casual pace, I'm opting for emulating the original. Pretty good so far, on the first boss fight against Nemesis in the Clock Tower courtyard. That's one thing consistently bad about the tank control Resident Evil games, the bosses are never that good, therefore most of the time they just feel like annoying speed bumps in between the meat of the game. I prefer Mr. X to Nemesis as an antagonist, but both are cool, and while I think Mr. X succeeds at being intimidating by having his impression being commanded purely through pretense, he's not that scary looking, but he's blank faced and silent and does not stop his conquest to pursue and kill you. Nemesis is a bit more freakish looking, and that's fine, he's a cool monster, but he just isn't intimidating in the same way Mr. X manages to be. I prefer the look of Nemesis on the PS1 to remake Nemesis though, and the way he screams "S.T.A.R.S." is a lot better in the original. The remake Nemesis from what I've heard just reduces his one word of dialogue to a quieter, slurred speech instead of a loud growling.

RE 0 is the oddest of the bunch, I mean it was better than 3 but the timing was bleh. RE 2 brings back a lot of fond memories, wonder if the reboot is a good idea, don't want to taint those memories. Eh, I'll risk it down the road, can't play it now anyway, gotta wait until I upgrade. But when I do play... Claire first... she rocks more than Lara Croft.. and the pink biker outfit was a bit too cutesy but it still worked.

It adds a lot of content while the remake of 3 was rushed and removed multiple areas. It's also a lot scarier than the other Resident Evils and the combat is better. It also adds a side character in Claire's campaign that's basically a replacement for Ada in Leon's version of the story, Sherry, who is an excellently done example of a young child character. She adds a lot of emotional weight to the story imo, the added plot point of the Orphanage run by Umbrella she escapes from is messed up beyond belief too, reading the Orphanage's nefarious secret motives in the journals at the orphanage is spine chilling... there's a brief segment where you play as Sherry escaping the orphanage and have to sneak past the corrupt police man who's a shill for umbrella due to having no weapons cause she's like 8 years old, it's a pretty fun brief segment and uber tense. The graphics in 2 are also extremely well done. Mr. X is a lot more threatening, too, now that there's no loading screen between rooms and his sound design and chasing is uninterrupted once he starts to pursue you, never giving up.

I even had the shirt, got it free for buying the game, even though I got the game on clearance. So yeah, I'll give the reboot a chance but probably not until the winter. I played the original Biohzard 2 that was slightly remastered, and by that I mean they added 1920x1090 support, that was the only change. English and Japanese subs, and it the game did have a little more violence and the pedo elements were a little more in the open. But other than a few small differences. But yeah, fave of mine.. always will be. RE 3... eh.. never cared for it.. but I do like the RE 1 reboot, far better than the original, they just made Jill cooler.

I prefer Mr. X but Nemesis is still a cool main villain even if the boss fights are not that fun (the second mandatory boss fight with Nemesis has a 32 second cutscene you cannot skip every time you enter the room to fight him. But at least it's an easier fight than the one in the Clocktower Yard). I will try to finish Code Veronica after it and then maybe Resident Evil 0. I might play the 3 remake but not until either the price decreases or Christmas or something. No way I'm paying $60 for something I've heard is just a decent game at best and is also extremely short and very linear. Right now if I get $60 it's going to be saved for Elden Ring because that game I trust is going to be awesome because FromSoftware delivers their expectations.

I'm still on the fence with going back to RE, I really like what Microsoft Studios has done with State Of Decay, it also leans on Romeros' zombie stuff but it does so in a more faithful manner, story wise its a lot weater than RE but game play wise and the level up system make it more of a rewarding game to play game wise. It could have used better writing though and some better voice actors, and maybe SOD 2 has that, haven't tried it just yet.

Elden Ring is basically the spiritual successor to Dark Souls, with George RR Martin helping to write the plot. Not much is known about the lore asides from that, but Martin has said it is indeed a sequel of sorts to the original DS trilogy. It's also going to be open world and exploration based, while still retaining the core mechanics and combat style that Dark Souls is widely lauded for. Just beat Resident Evil 3 a couple minutes ago. Asides from the bad boss design (PS1, oh well), I enjoyed the game a bit. I'd say it's about on par with the remake of 1. Will get back to that awful boss from Code Veronica now

Will get back to that awful boss from Code Veronica now GC or PC remake of 1? They are a little different, the GC version came out a lot sooner so it didn't get the as up to date graphics and some of the added content. Not really a big RE 1 fan either though, just didn't care for Jill and Chris, for me it will always be Leon and Claire, which is upsetting because Claire got the shaft, Leon was in the most popular RE game and then was also in 6, Claire was in CV and some episodic type of RE game they made a few years back but it sucked. Its time for Claire to get her RE 4.

Its time for Claire to get her RE 4. Gamecube Remake Well, I'll say, if you like Claire in 2, you'll probably love her added story segments in the remake with the side character, Sherry, an 8 year old girl she helps survive Raccoon City. She's really well written and acted, child characters that young, especially in video games, tend to be annoying. But she's both well acted and resourceful. I'd argue Code Veronica kinda is "Claire's RE 4". But, I get what you mean. I like Jill, though (and not just because I like Women in Uniform). I heard Carlos from 3 is more well done in the remake since the remake of 3 basically nukes the entire original 3 story in favor of rewriting it, I've heard the story and acting are the only superior parts of the 3 remake to the original besides of course the graphics. In the original version of 3 Carlos is just a Latin American stereotype, not anything degradingly offensive, no, but just blandly written to be your average hotshot flirtatious guy with the accent. Fun Fact: The voice actor of Nemesis in the original version of 3 is the same guy who voiced Luigi in two 1990s Mario VHS cartoon specials. The next Resident Evil game will definitely have Ethan Winter's daughter be the main character, or at least I guarantee she will have dlc where you play as her. And I'm excited at the idea, too, Biohazard and Village were both great gameplay and story-wise, a real breath of fresh air for the franchise (though ironic for me to say that considering I played both before starting with the classic RE games). Side note: I bet the random mutant animals are just results of Umbrella employees getting bored on slow days. "Hey, Bill, wonder what would happen if I inject the T-Virus into this hedgehog!"

Resident Evil can bounce from horror genre to horror genre and keep the base heroes but have them deal with whatever the hip new horror monster is, that's the cool thing about its name, it isn't Resident Zombie Evil, so it can evolve. Walking Dead was screwed from day one, they were stuck with zombies, which can't go on forever. Comic book wise, it was a fun run until the last issue, tv show wise, I bailed after the 5th season, Darabont was why it was really good. The future of RE games is bright.. the future or RE mass merch is dead. Not sure why, it just is. I mean the characters are cool but there's just so many toy lines these days that RE is just not big enough to compete with Aliens and Predator and all the others.

Oh, if they sold Lady Dimitrescu body pillows I guarantee you those things would sell like hot cakes with how much internet p**n there was of her before Village even saw a release date. I'm glad RE is moving on from zombies while still finding ways to fit things into the lore. They got really creative with giving science fiction reasons for the existence of werewolves and vampires and living dolls in Village, too bad some people can't let the whole zombie thing go and immediately berate Biohazard and Village for taking things in a new direction. I mean, only so many zombie type stories you can stretch on for 6 numbered games and god knows how many spinoffs. Besides, RE had more monsters that weren't traditional zombies since the first game... hunters, tyrants, Golgotha mutants, Lickers, Bandersnatches, Las Plagas. Actual Night of the Living Dead type zombies were more so just the vanilla enemy.

I know the first game was remade for the GC, and then ported to the PS4 with better controls. I know that they changed things in the second and third game. I heard in multiple videos that they made 3 considerably shorter than the original.
