This is one of the few remaining SK films that deserves another film adaptation. I hope they get a really talented young actress for the part (and no, not the girl from Stranger Things: too predictable).

Eh, not down for this, the original nailed it rather well and it just doesn't need to be done plus many younger viewers may think they're copying Seven.
But I'm also not one of those people who will say, "count me out". If it happens I'll watch it and if I actually enjoy it more than the original, so be it. I don't see that happening but ya never know.

I'd like to see Zahn McClarnon, who played Hanzee Dent in FX's Fargo, portray Rainbird.
He's really good.
Great pick. He was terrific in Westworld.

He's really good. I'm not familiar with him but I've heard good things about him so I'm down with it. While I'm not sold on them rebooting the film, they can easily win me over if they get the chemistry right between Charley and her dad. Drew and David sold it, they came off like a daughter and father who genuinely loved one another and would do what it took to save the other. As for Martin Sheen's character, there's numerous actors who could do better than he did. So basically it comes down to casting a great Charley, her father, and Rainbird. If Efron is the father that concerns me but its been a few years since I've seen him in anything, maybe he's gotten better? They should use that one dude who did the instrumental score for Zombie's Halloween II, can't remember his name but he also did John Wick. I'm not a fan of the Zombie Halloween films but there are some solid scenes and the score has a lot to do with it. |

Scifi channel tried this once before....as far as I am concerned we need a sequel, no Drew no Joe lol
I also say Pet Semetary (the original) needs a real sequel

Hollywood can't seem to do a sequel to a King story without a King story to rely on, and they'd have jack sh*t to rely on since there is no Firestarter 2. After he wrote Doctor Sleep I got my hopes up that he'd do a new story that maybe tells the story of an adult Charlie with a family, but I don't think he ever intends to re-visit Charlie, but who knows, the man writes more books in two years than I post things on Facebook. |

Efrom may surprise me and do a good job.
Blumhouse is a bit overrated though, I know many love what they put out these days but I did not like Fantasy Island or their take on Halloween.
So we'll see... time will tell...

I watched the original Psycho today, its been quite awhile since I have. I never realized until today just how the remake was void of any type of creativity. I mean they basically just did the exact same film, they just had a little more of a scuffle towards the end, I think it took both of them to get him down near the end, while in the original, Norman is still fighting back when they just abruptly cut to being in the police station. Why am I bringing this up? I'm really hoping this Firestarter remake doesn't do what they did with Psycho. I mean the original was very close to the novel, which I enjoyed, but this time around, they need to add more "fireworks". If only Dakota Fanning was still a kid, she'd be perfect as Charlie, but she's an adult now. But I'm sure they'll get a good Charlie. Heh, it just occurred to me, Drew played Charlie in Firestarter then went to work for Charlie in Charlie's Angels.  |

Didn't know this was getting a remake. I have heard of the one with Drew Barrymore, but haven't seen it all the way through yet. All I've seen is parts of the ending when she goes on that rampage.
