I'm reading The Sleepy Hollow Family Almanac by Kris D'Agostino for the 2nd time. It's a good book.

I was just thinking that I need to go through this thread on the SKMB this year and start writing down all the recommended books.
Been in a reading slump for several months. Still haven't finished Gwendy's Button Box or my re-read of Insomnia. I think it has to do with not having a peaceful reading spot anymore.
Went to B&N to look for Bird Box, but couldn't find it and was too shy to ask. Lol

I recommend you read Lord of the Flies. It used to be required reading. Is it still? I read it when I was your age and it made an impression on me. Stephen King said when he read it he got physically ill; my reaction was similar.

I still chuckle when I remember Muskrat called it Gwendy's Butt and Box. Crude but funny. He was our very own Richie Tozier. Wonder what happened to him.
(Missing your posts on the SKMB, Morgan. I hope you had a nice Christmas and New Year's. I'm finishing up a book set in North Dakota and my teeth are chattering just reading about it.)

We are around the same age so maybe it was more popular in our day. Did you like it?

To be honest, we have read it but i wasn't very interested or focused. Every pupil read 10 Pages out, then the next pupil read 10 Pages etc.....
Then we watched the Movie. That was very Interesting and created curiosity.
I have read it in 1995 or 1996....it's an awesome Story

I am still half way through "Educated" by Tara Westover
She had a very interesting upbringing but overcame that to become more formally educated.

She has a pretty singing voice. I remember seeing this on several bestseller lists but I'm not sure what it's about. I wonder if it is anything like Hillbilly Elegy. That's been on my TBR list for a year.

She was raised by a very strange man who put her life in danger many times. He believed that the Apocalypse was just around the corner - guess you would call him a survivalist.
Very interesting book and I think it is well written.
