Ha, found two books today.
"The Devils Teardrop" by Jeffery Deaver and a german Perry Rhodan Book called "Perry Rhodan, the biggest adventure" by Andreas Eschenbach I've read most of Deaver's books, but don't think I've read that one. Thanks for mentioning it!

Thanks for mentioning it! After an early morning machine-gun attack by a madman called the Digger leaves dozens dead in the Washington, D.C., subway, the mayor’s office receives a message demanding twenty million dollars by midnight or more innocents will die.

osnafrank I looked it up on Wikipedia before I posted and nothing seemed familiar. So either I didn't read it, or read it so long ago that I don't remember.

I just learned that I can read books on the Kindle App for free with my Amazon Prime membership. I'm going to download Paul Stanley's autobiography, Face The Music and start with that one.

If you get the opportunity read it. I have read it in just 2 days. It`s fast paced, the characters and the story great.
Reading "The Affinity Bridge" by George Mann now.

I'm at the end of Rabbit, Run and can't wait to find the other Rabbit books. I learned there is a film too but I don't want to watch the trailer until I'm finished. I am on chapter four of The Cypress House and loving it.
@notaro How is The Fan?

@notaro How is The Fan? It's really good Doc, I've read it a couple of times over the years and I always enjoy it. It's done in the style of Bram Stoker's Dracula,the whole novel is comprised of letters between the main characters. If you stumble across a second hand copy it's definitely worth picking up.

Thanks, I will. Need to wander over to Goodreads or Amazon and check out more reviews. I like epistolary novels. I was thinking it might be similar to Misery...y'know, obsessed fan.

I saw an article that mentioned the fact that 55% of people who read YA books are adults. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that YA characters are more energetic and youthful, many YA novels have illustrations and almost all of them have no profanity. If authors want to compete with movies and TV, often they have to offer the reader a little more than just words on a page. I noticed that many of Stephen King's classics have been reimagined as graphic novels.
Last week I read 2 YA novels myself-- Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (because of the new movie I saw on Saturday) and Pan's Labyrinth (because of the old movie I saw on DVD 10 years ago).

I'm about 210 pages into The All-Girl Filling Station's Last Reunion by Fannie Flagg. I love her writing and storytelling so much! Only problem is that I now think everyone in the south has relatives like the characters in her books.

Finished my Flagg book last night. Started a reread of The Tommyknockers and am about 75 pages into it now. Here we go - more "animal stuff."

Finished Rabbit, Run by Updike which has shot up to one of my favorite books ever. I'm looking for Rabbit Redux. Still reading Cypress House and The Forest by Edward Rutherfurd. Last night I started Witches of Eastwick on my Kindle because I want to read the sequel.

Giving this one another spin, I remember reading that when it came out in the early 80s (? - maybe late 70s). I thought it was good book about a celebrity and a stalker and I remember the entire book being composed of letters between the fan and celeb and between the celeb and her handlers. I believe a movie was made too.

Just started Sea Of Rust by Robert Cargill. There is a Joe Hill endorsement on the cover. The book takes place after the robot wars have destroyed the humans. Now the robots are in danger because the mainframes are trying to take over. The first two chapters were good. I'm going to like this one.
