Nope, not me, but I am familiar with it. It had garnered some attention online before it was even released. I might read it one day. I think spideyman and doyoulove19 read it, can't remember. I think our friend Patinthehat first recommended it. I did enjoy it alot! Glad you like it neesy !! CgrURHhYIlTcgQlYDspx I did not know at first if it would be a good book for me because it said on the cover "Perfect for fans of Barbara Kingsolver" (and one other author).
Quite a few years ago I attempted to read "The Poisonwood Bible" by Barbara Kingsolver and just could not get into it.
This book, however, is beautiful - the way she describes nature and the marsh plus the fact there is a murder mystery subplot - really great!

The Poisonwood Bible was a little tough to get into at first, but then it completely grabbed me. I read it many years ago. Not sure why I haven't picked up any other books by her.

I still have not quite finished Where the Crawdads Sing. We've been a bit distracted with the squirrel trapping (catch and release).
It's at the part where they are having a trial so it will interesting to find out if she ("The Marsh Girl") gets convicted or found not guilty (which makes me wonder - who really killed one of the main characters?)

I have no intention of reading this book; just not my cuppa. But I hope this doesn't spoil anything for those who haven't read it.

It doesn't matter who you were quoting. I didn't want you to spoil it for anyone. It doesn't sound like you gave away much, but just in case.

Anything I gave away is right on the back cover - so which one of the many books you listed on SKMB are you currently reading? I noticed you have about six or so on the TBR pile

Okie doke. I started Dr. Death by Jonathan Kellerman. And I am eyeballing Rabbit, Run by John Updike.

Hey there - me again - rereading what I wrote I now see that that last sentence was not necessary so I removed it - you were just worried that it would spoil it for others - makes sense!
Thanks again

Currently reading Those Who Wish Me Dead - what a great book! I can't wait until reading time every night. Unputdownable. doccreed - this is one of the books morgan recently sent me - morgan is a wonderful gifter, it's probably the thing I'm the very worst dead last in - gift giving, that is.
Also - just got this in from Amazon - I'm overwhelmed and can't talk much about it right now. I'm proud and worried, but oddly peaceful, so long as I don't have to talk about it.

morgan I was shocked! Totally not what I would have predicted {Spoiler} Most disturbing to me was how they just kept on rolling like nothing had happened or was more important than Devon and her Olympic dreams - her poor little brother having to live like that - THAT HORRIBLE SECRET.

Right?! And the parents were more concerned about their role and importance in her life than they were about being good people and guiding the children. Their identities were completely wrapped up in her success. They completely lost themselves and their moral compass.

Read Heart of Barkness, the latest Chet and Bernie book, while camping. (Thank you, Spidey!) Love Chet and Bernie!!
Started and got about halfway through The Prophet, by Michael Koryta. I am still working through his books but love every one I have read and this one is really great, as well. Have about 40 minutes worth left, hope to finish tonight.
