Foxcatcher (2014)
The story of ultrawealthy John Du Pont's involvement in USA wrestling and the murder of Dave Shultz. A very creepy true story.

Watched Jason Goes To Hell today, the last time I had seen it was back when it was released in 1993. Gotta say, I appreciated it a lot more than I did the first time around. They made some mistakes, he went around possessing one person after another, not unlike Pinker did in Shocker, but they always showed who he was taking over, they shouldn't have, they should have spooked people by keeping the viewers unsure which body he was in. Shocker mixed it, sometimes they'd show which body he took, other times they didn't.
The up the skirt scene towards the end was a little disturbing but if one thinks about it, they were paying homage to Evil Dead since the tree did the same thing to Ash's girlfriend, the difference is the tree just took her over, Jason used his sisters body to bring back his own, and very, very quickly.
New Line probably would still be doing Jason films but WB took them over and I don't think WB has any interest in bringing back Jason. The box office numbers were never that great, Halloween and Elm ST ruled the slasher realm, but they were shot with such a small budget, they always made a profit regardless.

The Dark Knight Rises.
This is in my opinion one of if not the best movie trilogy in history. Christopher Nolan has chosen the best cast for the film and has given us the greatest Batman films to have ever been directed. Just my 2 cents. I can guarantee its better than the Reeves/Pattinson films.

Moore and Miller created the best Batman stories without a doubt, and Nolan, he without a doubt based his films off off of their work, which is part of the reason why they are the best Dark Knight films made. Bane was a departure from the comic version but the departure worked, while Joker was pretty much the Joker from Killing Joke, he was just all about driving people nuts and had no interest in wealth, just chaos. In the comic he's been rebooted quite a bit but I think after Killing Joke he remained being all about just driving people insane, while going more insane himself, like cutting off his own face and then stapling it back on. Ben kind of dropped the ball, but I'm not surprised, he had the look down but just didn't sell it as well as Bale, but Ben dropped the ball with Daredevil as well. Its a proven fact that many actors in comic book films don't really give a damn about the comics and hate going to cons, etc, so they do kind of phone it in and get their big paycheck. But Bale, he also isn't really into the comic book thing but he is a character actor so unless he gets pissed off like he did in T4, he'll do his best regardless. Funny thing is, Bale wasn't in the right mood during T4 but he's still the best adult John Connor to date, not that it matters since they retconned the future John and now it's a woman who is the resistance leader.

Ben was the quintessential comic book Batman that comic book fans had been waiting for in a live action film. Everything about him was accurate, he wasn't simply a guy who dressed like a bat in a very real world like Bale.

The best Batman in my opinion is Kevin Conroy who voiced him in various animated movies and video games.

I am Mother
A teenage girl is raised by a robot designed to repopulate Earth. Their bond is tested when a stranger arrives with alarming news.
I am mother" is the kind of dystopian movie that leaves us in thought as soon as the last frame disappears.
The movie did a great job confusing either you and the girl should trust mother, it adds great suspense.
The environmental setting like the architecture and sounds in the film are very good. The audio and video quality was also terrific.

From the Movie Sunshine.
How the effects and score didn’t get even a Oscar nomination is beyond me.
wolf I'm pretty sure this flick is on your "To Watch" List.

Everything about him was accurate, he wasn't simply a guy who dressed like a bat in a very real world like Bale. Ben portrayed the Neil Adams Batman, which isn't bad Batman, I just prefer Moore and Miller's version of Batman, which Bale and Nolan nailed. He became more about fighting than detecting. I heard they went back to a more mid 80's Batman in the comic in the mid 90's but I gave up on the big two eons ago, they just were tame compared to Image and Dark Horse. But I heard they brought back the second Robin by having Ras resurrect him and that they made him darker, sounds kind of interesting but I'm done with Batman and comics for the most part. And Oldman, best Gordon to date, he mailed the late eighties Gordon perfectly. But lets see what Pattinson has to offer, who knows, maybe he'll be the best to date. Never saw any of the Twitlight fiims, but he was ok in Harry Potter and some other film I saw him in.

Agree about Oldman, terrific James Gordon; then again, he's excellent in nearly everything he's in.

wolf I'm pretty sure this flick is on your "To Watch" List. A movie that deserves a lot more appreciation. I remember being shocked at how drastically it changed as it went on; it started as a kind of science-fiction/adventure type movie, then completely changed and turned into a horror film (which you totally wouldn't expect from a Danny Boyle film).

A Quiet Place 2
A sequel that I actually liked.
I really liked the first part. Is it on netflix ? Oh my god you guys...I really don't like to put things that other people like down....but that movie, "A Quiet Place", is one I was sorry I watched. I really did not like it at all. Too much of it was disappointing and irritating TO ME. And it really didn't make much sense. There were no reasonable explanations for a lot of things in that story. ..sorry 💔
Not too long ago I saw "Alien Resurrection", I really like that one, though it was no "Alien". I loved the cast and story, but it was hard to see Ridley as a cloned hybrid. I really enjoyed the CADRE OF mercenaries/space pirates/a********! 😄 Wincott is always great in my book, no matter what he does. And I always love to see Perlman in these type roles (like he did in "Blade II".) He's awesome in these roles, but I really enjoyed watching him "Pacific Rim", that was a bit different for him and highly entertaining. His character was one of the most interesting parts of the flick. And of course 'Resurrection' had Douriff. He never disappoints.
And not too long after seeing that, I watched "Galaxy Quest" again, it popped up on Hulu, not too long after we had been talking about that flick somewhere else on the Playground. (...yeeaaaaaah...me and Hulu are speaking again. 😆😉)
I just got to love "Galaxy Quest"! It's funny as hell and has some good story to it. Just a fun and funny flick. Which is good stress relief, in stressful times. 🙂 I forgive it, for poking fun at my beloved 'Original Star Trek'! 😊
When the Thermians show up!?... GO...WITH ....THEM! And bring an ugly lobster head back home on a pike, damnit! Oh! and...put pants on Frank. 🤨 Wear the damn pants, FRANK!...you're representing the whole of Earth Commander, as well as Deutschland! 😄😉 ....you can bring the Whiskey and Coke though! 😄 wuff! 😋🐺 I really don't understand the appeal of A Quiet Place either. People talk about how "unique" the concept for the film was? What the fudge?! I know several books/films with the exact SAME premise.

Lol, Dizzy! Grin Willard is just playing around, and I'm making sure you know he is and not getting upset. 😊 It's okay! Everyone is sure that lady wouldn't do p**n.
Grinny Willy is just working on his XXX-Mas wish list! 😆😉
And Hey Sis! 😀 I LOVE that movie "The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen"! That's a favorite of mine I'd like to see again sometime soon. 😊 Typical American: shoot as many bullets as you can and pray that you hit the target!
I love Sean Connery as Alan Quatermain.
