Rewatched Primeval Kill, loosely based on the exploits of the man eating Croc Gustave in the region of Burundi. A documentary crew are sent to a war torn region of Africa to film and capture the legendary Nile Crocodile who it's claimed has killed over 300 people, but they also have the local murderous warlord to contend with too. This is quite an enjoyable movie, performances were good and apart from a couple of shots the cgi Croc looks decent.
Rewatched Attack Of The Werewolves, a Spanish horror comedy, a writer goes to his ancestral home in a remote village where the townspeople decide to sacrifice him to rid themselves of a curse that has been on the village for hundreds of years. Really liked this, very funny, great performances, and good werewolf effects.

I really enjoyed this movie. Overall this film was very wholesome, fun, and adventurous. The Cast and CGI was excellent. Just a wonderful movie.
Did you notice the Slogan on the Girls Shirt? It means "I can't live without Champagne"

Rewatched Watchers, two genetically modified animals from a secret government base escape, one is a dog the other is a chimera which hunts the dog and kills anyone it has come in contact with. This is from 1988 and it shows, it looks dated but it is enjoyable to some degree, performances are ok, Corey Haim and Michael Ironside star.
Rewatched The Babadook, a widowed mother is deep grieving for her husband, she and her young son are struggling to cope with everyday life and things go from bad to worse when their house is invaded by a malevolent entity the Babadook. I loved this one, a slow burner and really creepy. Excellent performance from the two leads.

The Equalizer 2
Power-packed sequel that delivers every bit of the knockout action and vigilante hero charm the first one had.

Watched a swedish Netflix movie called Red Dot. About an urban couple that decides to take a hike in the snowy north of sweden and accidentally irritates some not so nice locals.... But theres a twist. (the name comes from the red dot you can see when they are aimed at with rifles). Decent but not anything to write home about.

The most interesting one we watched was one with Helen Mirren about an elderly woman who is quite well off and is apparently going to be ripped off by Ian McKellen (who plays a career criminal)
It wasn't too bad

Better than Shutter Island in my opinion.

Perhaps, I watched Taxi Driver on an iPhone screen with earbuds while on a 4 hour flight so perhaps I need to watch it again on a bigger, more stable screen in order to really appreciate. As for Shutter Island, I really really liked it for some reason. Maybe it's because it's a combination of my favorite genre, horror, with a nice touch of Chinatown-esque noir to it. I will admit, parts of the twist made certain parts in the movie feel more unrealistic, but I can forgive that flaw for just how much it genuinely kept me hooked on the screen for all the time before that, which is impressive for a 3 hour movie to make me feel seeing how my attention span can only last so long sometimes.

Not a hard opinion to agree with. Common sense if you ask me. Well, here's the thing, they're hardly comparable. No one goes to a Marvel movie expecting some cinematic masterpiece, people just expect to have some dumb fun and watch a pretty senseless action flick with camp comedy. However, Scorcese is a world renowned director, people go into his movies actually expecting something that will stick with them. It'd make more sense to compare Marvel to DC, and Scorsese to Kubrick or someone in that same block of cinema. Comparing Marvel movies to Scorsese is like comparing a p**n magazine to a Da'Vinci painting. Completely different asides from the face value fact they're both motion pictures.
