I enjoyed that. He looks great for 91.
He's almost old enough to run for the senate.

Let's take a moment to pray for poor Jonathan Frakes ... who is directing an episode of this season of STD.

Doesn't matter what timeline it is, Kirk is always breaking girls hearts.

Who is Discovery and Section 31 actually for?
Say what you will about SNW, but that's got Pike, Spock, Kirk, Uhura, etc. You know?

Oh, is this a different timeline? So, will the SNW Kirk not become the Kirk that we all know and love from TOS?
And yes! So heartbreaking. Their chemistry was so good. I wouldn't be surprised if the actor and the actress really got on on set.
The question is, why did Kirk mention having a drink with La'an (when he's got Carol at home)? It could be that he was simply meaning it in a friend kind of way though.

My first thought was: Omg, a musical episode, yikes" But it was surprisingly good. This episode had more character development than the entire Disco Series.

Say what you will about SNW, but that's got Pike, Spock, Kirk, Uhura, etc. You know? Disco is the most depressing ST i've ever seen. It'a always about a big threat that is going to destroy not only a solar system, no, it has to destroy the whole universe and time itself *gag*
And i haven't seen a single episode without burnham crying, for no reason. She always looks like a walking sleeping pill.
"Oh Saru, i'm so sorry" "No, Michael, i'm much more sorry" "Impossible Saru, i'm soooooo soooo sorry" "Oh Michael you made me cry, let's touch each others butts and all is forgiven" "I'm soooooooo sorrrrryyyyy"

SNW isn't the best but its better than virtually everything else when it comes to Kurtzman related Trek.
The actress that plays La'an is really good. She's actually a singer as well as an actress.

This is hilarious! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I love when Pike says he's going to end the communication, but then he continues singing to Marie, and La'an is like 'okay, that's that' and turns it off herself. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Just as Pike was getting on his knees to sing to Marie.

I could be wrong, Frank, but doesn't Carol, in Star Trek 3, mention something about how she didn't tell Kirk she had a son because she was afraid he'd (Kirk's son) go off travelling the stars with Kirk?
If that's the case, then doesn't ST:SNW contradict the lore by having Kirk know about his son's birth prior to it happening?

I searched the Star Trek Wiki and nope, its mentioned in Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan that Carol asked Kirk to leave her alone to raise their son, citing him being a Starfleet officer and not getting on well with him.
