Nah, it seemed a bit of a weird comedy to me from the trailers. Plus, Kurtzman is involved, so that's generally an automatic no. Was it any good?

But it seems the production has been a clusterfark in scheduling the cast.

I didn't know what to expect.
Feels like parody Trek. Not a mean spirited one,
but just a parody sketch show.
The only Character i like is Mariner.

But maybe i'm biased, because "Lower Decks" is my favorite TNG Episode.
It's a wonderful episode.
And even though i know, that Lower Decks are just ranks,
i'm pretty pissed that they named a comic parody after this brilliant episode.

Gotch you. Why Paramount has put people that dislike Star Trek like Alex Kurtzman in charge is beyond baffling.

Its a shame that its taking all these years for them to do a sequel to Star Trek: Beyond as I thought it was by far the best of the JJ Abrams reboot universe (sometimes called the Kelvin timeline).

Paramount's been doing a lot of weird stuff over the years with regards to Star Trek 4, though. They kept changing their mind as to whether or not it was going to happen; I'll solely believe that its actually happening when the cast shows up on set!

That announcement Paramount made at the start of the year was bizarre. I think it was a stunt to find out if there was a lot of traction for the idea, which I'm glad there is.
