Well, this is Memorial Day weekend. June 1st will be this coming Wednesday.
Remember that this thread is open to guests. 🙂
...hoping that our friends here, and that other former SKMB members (who are not currently Ka-tet Playground members) stop by and let us all know how they fare this season. That goes for all of you other guests too. 🙂
May all be well, safe and sound and have "Long Days and Pleasant Nights".

Prayer for Hurricane Protection Lord Jesus Christ, Creator, and Lord of the universe, You have set the earth on its foundation All element of nature obeys your command. While on earth you safe your apostles from perishing in the storm by calming the wind and wave on your command. We humbly beseech you our precious Lord, to protect us from the unpredictable elements of nature keep us safe during hurricane season and give us the favorable weather. Please help us to calm all the storms of life that threaten us: most especially from the destruction of hurricanes, Help us to remain safe in your refuge And be grateful for all you have done for us. In Jesus Name we ask, Amen.

View 2-Day Graphical Tropical Weather Outlook Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 200 PM EDT Tue May 31 2022 For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico: 1. Near the Yucatan Peninsula and Southeastern Gulf of Mexico: A large and complex area of low pressure is expected to develop near the Yucatan Peninsula and the northwestern Caribbean Sea in a couple of days, partially related to the remnants of Agatha from the eastern Pacific. Despite strong upper-level winds over the area, this system is likely to become a tropical depression while it moves northeastward over the northwestern Caribbean Sea and southeastern Gulf of Mexico late Thursday or Friday. Regardless of development, locally heavy rainfall is likely across portions of southeastern Mexico, the Yucatan Peninsula, Guatemala, and Belize during the next couple of days, spreading across western Cuba, southern Florida, and the Florida Keys on Friday and Saturday. Interests in the Yucatan Peninsula, western Cuba, the Florida Keys and the Florida Peninsula should monitor the progress of this system. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...high...70 percent.

Okay this is old news, from 5/29/22...but it's got some info. Just posting this because I discovered something new. Once "Agatha" crosses over from the Pacific into the Atlantic, she gets renamed : "Alex". Not making light of the situation 💔 Hoping and praying this system weakens, dissipates and just gets lost. 💔🙏 ....

wireman , are you going to be ok with the predicted rain/wind for the weekend?
We are supposed to get a fair amount of rain. It's been very dry for the past few months, so we should be able to handle a lot of rain. As long as the winds don't ramp up more, we should be ok.

Just stay safe and in touch. One new plus is that I have underground power now. The power company put underground lines in my neighborhood a few months ago. It should make losing power a little less likely and if I do lose it, I should get it back quickly after a storm.

They did cut the trees around the lines last year, but it is a joke here. An afternoon T storm breaks the electric. Two weekends ago was out of power for 6 and half hours. Gotta love rural.

Saw a short vid yesterday morning, looks like the Saharan Dust is moving over and going to come into the Gulf. They said they expected that to keep things quiet for awhile. Hmmm....I wonder if my mom and wayoftheredpanda will see any of that red sky haze in South Texas. I'll ask mama, next time I talk to her.

We could use some more dust in August and September.

Hey prufrock21 🙂 Please come tell us how all goes for you this season. We'll be watching, and concerned whatever may come.🙏 And we miss you when you're not around too. You know that. 🙂 So far so good. Our main concern during hurricane season is flooding, high winds which cause property damage and the shut down of electrical and water services. Where I live, flooding doesn't occur and high winds won't destroy my house. However, we might lose electrical and water services. Keeping fingers crossed and knocking on wood. Thanks for your concern. p21
