I have only read a few issues of Defenders, but yes, I know Barbara/Brunhilde. The first New Mutants trip to Asgard was a great story. Each of the kids had a big impact because of it. ---- Mmm...very sorry to have missed that! Sounds most interesting!Aw, I know we have to sacrifice something that's important for us, but giving up comics entirely? ----- Yeah, but there were other factors involved too. My monthly subscriptions list at th my local comic book store was quite long and it was running me about $60 per month. It was just my gran and myself back then, so it was good to save the money. Things were tight at that time. I had stopped her from working full time. It was too hard on her and needed to retire.She'd more than earned it. 🙂 If you ever want to go back, there's a series of Marvel Epic Collection books that are a great way to get all of these stories. --- Thanks! Yeah, I know about expensive pull lists. I dropped practically all of mine in 2011 because I needed my money for other things, among them, paying a bank debt I had acquired for unrelated circumstances.

These days I have a lot of money
going into art supplies.
But bills are all paid
and I have plenty for
anything else we need.

Here is more from the lesser app.
More "Sunflowers" inspired by Van Gogh of course.
And another couple of works I did playing around with
illustrations...parts of series I did on 'Alice in Wonderland' for fun.
"Stayne, the Knave of Hearts" and a "Classic Rock Hatter" type piece
(lol, think 'Mark Bolan of T-Rex, and Tom Petty's iconic music vid 😊).
They go with the "Alice the Right" pic in 'new poems online' thread.....
I also have 4 illustrations
that go with two scenes I wrote in the 'Original essays, SHORT short stories...etc..' thread.
They're Titled : "Athene", "Perseus", "Hephaestus, Master Maker and Builder" and "Hephaestus' Striking".

This next one is how "Arachne" from Page 1 here began,
I started out just doodling an eye, then in the middle of doing that
I got an idea for what I wanted to use it for.
From there I scribbled out a basic outline drawing.
My sun was sitting on the couch beside me, talking on the phone with my mom,
I jotted down that note on the screen to show him, he nodded and said "Do it Mama!".😊....

3 pieces I did on the lesser app.
I had come up with these characters
and wanted to someday write about them.
I did that in the 'new poems online' thread,
that prufrock21 originally started.
I was greatly inspired by him and wolfbear
and their wonderful work. 🙂 a054

They aren't very good at all,
one of these days I will remake them digitally,
I have much better versions on paper. 🙂

Been gathering more
a little at a time.
It's nice seeing them again after so long.
I've got a few more pieces from the higher quality app,
but not too many. My old iPad was a hand me down,
memory was about full, and now the battery is iffy at best.
I think it was one of the first ones that ever came out.
One of these days I will see about getting a new one.
But I do have another device right now,
that I am going to hook up to my computer and try out eventually.
Sigh, it will be a whole new learning adventure.
And one that I look forward too, very much.😊

Okay...here's a few things from that first lesser app.

This first one is titled the "Writing desk"....
I was investigating different textures and uses for the tools.
Again this all stuff I did for fun, not my best work. 
...but I still so like these experimental pieces. 😊.......
and these next two are 'Contest Entries'....the artists on that site would hold friendly contests and challenges on a theme (more or less) and also we often would 'gift' one another with Presents of artwork, like that "He-Wolf" thing I did for 'Gerardo' I showed y'all on previous pages of this thread. I'll show you one or two of them too. Down the line.🙂
This first one was a contest entry (nope, I didn't win 😊) and the challenge/requirement was to make and advertisement that included two or more of your favorite things.
This is the very first version of the 'Gunslinger/Girl Cowboy' I did. (lol, that what the artist I submitted the art to called her)....On the left hand side I blanked out a person's name. Just trying to be respectful, even though these things might be available elsewhere in the cyberverse. 🙂
This one was a contest entry for a really funny guy...um...he had a sense of humor much like our good buddy " thekidd12 ". Lol, the challenge of the contest was to do a piece incorporating his favorite color, green, and to make it funny the way HE liked. Lol, This is what I came up with! Corny, lame...I KNOW! 😂😊......

Here's 3 more (all done on the lesser app), the last for tonight I think.
The first one was a request, "Heart of Gold"
and the other two were very early pieces I did
using just my fingers.
An early version of "The Joker Jack"
and the other is "The Amazon".......
 ..... I did get much better using my fingers alone, but it was time consuming and frustrating. A stylus! ...getting that first one was heaven! 😄 |

Here's another early one from the lesser app I did before I got a stylus.
A kid artist on the app wanted me to draw an alien girl for him.
So I started doodling around and thought of the original Star Trek.
It's an Andorean girl,
she's sad because William Shatner dumped her and ran off
with one of those crazy wild green chicks. 😆😉
(lol, you KNOW he would do that too, Commander osnafrank ! 😄)
The second was kind of a remake of that first on, on the better app.
I actually like the 'drawing' in the first one much more,
but of course the shading, highlighting and coloring is better on the second.
I did a lot of these when I was in between money work assignments,
and just messing around getting warmed up to do more serious work.
That's one of the reasons why quite a few of them are unfinished
(that, and I did lose progress to some glitches, like with "The Golden King". I would have finished that one.).....
