My favorite game series is the Metal Gear series. Mainly the games with Solid Snake as the main character.

Every boss in Dark Souls 1-3 ranked by how good their fight is imo.

The first two aren't that great but the first was developed by Interplay, their games were a little tame, and then Black Isle took over with the second and made things a bit more interesting. Bethesda took over with the 3rd and took elements of their classic Oblivion game and added them to Fallout 3, and that's when things really got good. They followed it up with New Vegas which is considered just a spin off of 3, and they released 4 not too long ago, which I still need to play. Bethesda is known for liking their fans to make mods, so they released a program that made it a lot easier, so there are so many mods for Fallout 3, NV, and 4 that one can do about anything in the three games. I just downloaded a simple smoking mod. There's even a mod that allows the player to pick their nose, I mean the mods out there range from silly to total overhauls, there's actually a huge mod that combines Fallout 3 and New Vegas into one giant game, haven't tried it yet though, seems to be a little too much.
Great series overall... probably only a peg below the Elder Scroll series.

After losing all of my progress in Mirror Of Fate, I'm almost back to where I left off. I think I found out why I prefer the reboot of Castlevania, it was overlooked by Hideo, the same guy who did the Metal Gear series. There's still talk of a potential live action film but they haven't said which story they'd go with, the original or the Lords story. I think the Lords story would go over way better in the US because its a lot like a Del Toro movie, and his films do very well. The original story is like Van Helsing, and that film didn't do so well.

GOG has Mortal Kombat 4 on sale for a buck and a half. The game is from 1997 but I decided to see if it would work, and it does and its still as fun as ever. Its more "3D" than the first three and the graphics are more life like, but due to it being from 1997, they are a little block like but the action is just as fast paced, the fatalities are in place, and it has the core characters.
Limited continues though... going to see if there's a cheat for that.

I haven't played the latest Mortal Kombat games. I think the last one I played was on the original Playstation.
Hideo is very good at making games, but I dislike the way he's treating a couple of different actors that did games for him.

Hideo is very good at making games, but I dislike the way he's treating a couple of different actors that did games for him. Hideo is a perfectionist, if he feels an actor or a a member of the development team isn't doing their best, he'll let them know it. Lords was just something he directed to get away from Metal Gear for awhile, I mean I like the games, but there's too many, he needs to do something new, and I think he is now. As for games, I went back to the Saboteur, its a GTA style of game play but with an Irish dude in Paris helping the French against the Nazi occupation. Its from 2009 but graphic wise, still looks good, and its refreshing to play a game with GTA game play where you're the good guy and not the thug. Sean can do a lot more than GTA or Saints Row characters though, he can wear disguises, he can sneak and do stealth kills, and he can climb buildings and whatnot. Oh and the coolest thing, the areas that are heavily occupied by the Nazi regime, when you're in those areas the graphics go black and white except for red objects, kind of like Sin City, but as you finish missions that free certain areas, those areas switch to color. They probably got the idea from Sin City since Sean, the lead character, has some Marv like qualities as well.

The interest in fighting games with pc gamers diminished in a big way due to first person shooters and games like Oblivion and Fallout dominating the PC gaming world, so they stopped making fighting games for the PC until the 9th game, which is considered a reboot.
The 4th and 9th are my favorite of the two, the first still is special but the 9th is just really a reboot of the first with far better graphics and online capabilities.
As for The Saboteur, it crashes once in awhile, trying to figure out why. If it keeps doing it, I'll probably jump to Saints Row IV, its on sale as well and I can create my own character.

They probably got the idea from Sin City since Sean, the lead character, has some Marv like qualities as well. The only Lords of Shadow game Hideo was involved in was the first one to my knowledge. His name was never brought up for any of the sequels. But I will admit I've never played the games so I can't say for certain. For my critique of how he's treated actors, I do agree that he should have whatever actor he wants to have for the role. My only issue was how he's treated a couple of them. The biggest one for me personally is David Hayter, the voice of Solid Snake. I have no issue with Kiefer Sutherland taking over as Big Boss. I've never liked David doing Big Boss since you really can't call Snake a "clone" of Big Boss. What I dislike is the reasons we were given for the recast. The biggest one is that supposedly facial expressions were supposed to play a major role in the game, yet the vast majority of story exposition is audio only. Plus I doubt Kiefer only being 2 years older really makes that much of a difference. The other one was the actress that played Quiet in MGS V, he was talking to her about playing a character in his new game, but didn't bother telling her that he went with a different actress. She had to find out by having her agent call about when they would start and found out then. Sorry if I sound like a negative nancy, but I think that was a horrible way to handle both situations. I've got The Saboteur on PS3, its a great game. Are you playing it on console of PC? You might want to check to see if there is any update patches you need to download that might improve the stability.

I've got The Saboteur on PS3, its a great game. Are you playing it on console of PC? You might want to check to see if there is any update patches you need to download that might improve the stability. I had it for the PC and it was the GOG version which was totally updated. I found a few dmp files that explained the crashes, they're processor related. Pandemic didn't future proof the coding, it was capped at 2 gigs of ram and single core processors, so those with better systems would have crashes and whatnot. When GOG released the game they didn't fix the processor bug well enough, it runs more smoothly now with quad cores, but still crash at times, and it won't run at all on seven core systems. In short, I had GOG give me a refund and I'm now playing GOG's version of Saints Row IV. But I found an oopsie Volition, the developers, made with Saints Row IV, some of the stats are only saved on their end, so whenever one exits their game and re-loads it later, the stats are reset to 0. Too many developers rely on Steam and GOG's servers to store stuff rather than the save files, not sure why, it should be both. But I'll look into more of this tomorrow. Anywho, Hideo did only direct Lords Of The Shadow, he had nothing to do with Mirror Of Fate or Lords 2, and that may be why I actually like Lords 2 a bit better. Hideo directs great games but Lords 1 was a wee bit too long, should have been trimmed down by at least five hours.

You're the first person I've seen online that admits they like LOS 2 more than the first one. Most everyone I see online trashes that game, especially for the stealth segments and modern setting.
