Just realized the guy who does the voice for Dracula in the Lords series is one of the main guys in 28 Weeks Later, go figure. @wayoftheredpanda I'm aware of a few dating sites and how you can put in your likes and preferences and whatnot, but with no disrespect to those who use them, I never go looking for a significant other, if I'm hanging with some girl and things "evolve", so be it. Relationships... without them we'd have less music... just think of all the power ballads that wouldn't exist. I agree that looking for relationships just to have them can be shallow

I agree that looking for relationships just to have them can be shallow I've known a lot of girls who just weren't happy unless they had a guy, they'd go maybe a month at most without some guy, and then they'd come to me asking why their relationships kept failing. I straight out told them, "if you need to always have a guy, and just take whatever comes first, its going to fail". They'd be like, "you're right, that's what my therapist says as well" but then they'd go on and keep doing it and doing it and doing it. But some are doomed to repeating the same mistakes. How does that one saying go, something about repeating the same mistakes and expecting better results. Anywho.. I need to get some game time in so I actually can review Mirrors Of Fate a bit more, I got to this one really trippy puzzle, and there was actually a scroll on the left hand of the screen that would offer solutions but at the cost of experience points. Well, I bought most of the solutions with my experience points this time, next time I won't need to. At the moment I'm stuck on this one boss that is not easy to beat. Dracula had the void sword and if it had energy, hitting the enemy not only hurt them but gave him some health back, Alucard has no such weapon sadly.

Yeah, I try not to be judgmental about what others look for in relationships. But I, personally, could not stand constantly hooking up with women I barely know for relationships that don’t go anywhere. Not that I’ve ever been in a relationship to know, but I don’t see myself as a very promiscuous type. I’m also very picky with what I like in women, and beggars can’t be choosers. Although, of course, personality and chemistry is what’s most important. Ah, but this is a video games thread, getting off topic.

Although, of course, personality and chemistry is what’s most important. Ah, but this is a video games thread, getting off topic. It is a video game thread but the two are linked in a modern way these days, video games actually play a BIG role in a lot of of relationships ending, and of course a lot of divorces. Why? While there are a lot more women playing games these days, its very rare that they become obsessed to the point where they spend less time with their significant other, or children, so that they can play games. However, quite a few guys have become very obsessed with games like Call OF Duty and one of the first things they do when they come home from work isn't to play with their kids or spend time with their significant other, its straight to the game and to start playing with their online pals. This has caused quite a few women to either seek counseling, a divorce lawyer, or just end the relationship if no marriage is involved. I can't say I blame these women, any guy who would spend more time gaming than with his kids or significant other, he shouldn't be in a relationship then. For some reason Eastwood's "a man has to know his limitations" comes to mind but it isn't limitations, its priorities, and those we love should always come before games. But back to games, I deleted Mirror Of Fate today, some of the bosses had all of this tech gear which made no sense since it takes place centuries ago, and the bosses were just boring, unlike Lords 2 which relies on old mythical monsters, Mirror has its own unique monsters, and they're boring. They were smart to switch over to pre-existing mythical monsters since its not any fun dealing with a giant rat that shoots maggots, and one boss actually shot lightning out of its butt. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the updated Stubbs the Zombie, which is due out on Tuesday, actually works well, because I beat Lords 2 already and I'm taking a break from New Vegas, I have over 50 hours into the game and while I still have the main quest to finish, I never cared for the main quest. So once again, when it comes to the newer Castlevania games, Lords 2 is cool, the rest can be ignored. But I preferred Simons Quest, while many preferred the original Castlevania. There was actually RPG elements in Simons quest, and one could talk to random characters, it was kind of like a cross between Castlevania and Zelda.

Plenty of people enjoy games and still have healthy relationships, although putting games before a significant other or children if you have them is quite a loser thing to do. If you choose to be in a relationship or have children, then that should be your primary responsibility. Doesn't mean you don't have to take the occasional "me" time, but if you're going to enjoy gaming it's good to at least be spending time with your partner while doing it, which some relationships do. A lot of parents now spend time with their children playing multiplayer games with them, which I think is a nice way to bond over similar interests.

lot of parents now spend time with their children playing multiplayer games with them, which I think is a nice way to bond over similar interests. That is a fun and healthy thing to do. To be clear, the relationship issues I was discussing, it involves the guys who go straight to their video games and spend more time playing them then spending time with their significant other and/or children. That just isn't going to fly with a lot of people. One should never give up their "me time" but in a relationship, one with kids or without, they do have to realize they're going to have less "me time" if they want a healthy relationship, not always, but more often than not. But usually when one is with someone, its because they want to be with them, spend a of time with them, do things with them. So I don't think the gaming thing is an addiction really, I think its a sign that the other partner just isn't as interested as he or she once was so they're subconsciously spending less time with the other half, if it wasn't gaming it would be working on cars or something else probably. Back to games however, I re-installed Mirror Of Fate, as annoying as some of the jumping around was getting, I just have to finish the damn thing. But I did have to start over since I deleted my save file... dumb move.

Do you like Return Of The Living Dead and Back To The Future? If so, this is the game for you... www.gog.com/game/stubbs_the_zombie_in_rebel_without_a_pulseIts out in a few more days, should be for consoles as well but not at that link. It is a remastered 15 year old title, and by remastered, I mean higher resolution support, same game play, same levels, etc, and so on. Its been unavailable for over a decade, dunno why really, I heard it had to do with a bug but that's why I'm waiting until the reviews come in before I buy it. If it still has the same bugs, I won't buy it, bugs bug.. Should be fun.. better be fun.. better be bug free because GOG has been pushing this upcoming release a lot.

I just found out Fallout: New Vegas has more to offer than I thought, and I've been playing it for years. I knew about the hardcore mode but I didn't know what it really did. It may be time to start a new game, I mean it can be enabled at anytime during the game, but I kind of want to start fresh with hardcore mode. The other cool thing, some of the mods I use use hardcore mode to add newer features, like the character doing silly things when drunk. I'm acting like its the norm to get drunk in a game but things have changed so much over the years gaming wise, back in the day one could drink health drinks to get more health or get heart containers, then games like Oblivion came around and started allowing the characters to get intoxicated, high, etc, and so on. I love how in GTA IV if one got behind the wheel while drunk they couldn't drive right and could get pulled over by the cops. That's one thing I wish Saints Row had.

Actually, never mind on that "hardcore" mode in Fallout: New Vegas.
The eating and drinking being essential is cool at first but companions can die with it enabled, and a lot of quests will fail if its enabled because of that. Too bad though because the eating, drinking, and sleeping being essential is kinda cool, gives it a Sims like vibe.
Speaking of the Sims, I'm tempted to give Sims 4 a shot but I don't like Sims games without a lot of mods, so I'll end up spending hours, if not days, finding the mods that make the game the way I like.
Right now I'm finding all the "secrets" in Mirror Of Fate, I haven't finished it yet, but I found out I can go back to earlier levels and unlock the secrets and the secrets carry over to where I'm currently at in the game, if that makes sense. The boss fights are difficult, so having as much of the health powers unlocked comes in handy.

wolf if you're around can you please delete the post above? Anywho.. DMC: The Devil May Cry is a hack and slash reboot of Devil May Cry, it has Dante still but he's westernized and the game deals with things that were going on in the US at the time, they just added a demon spin to them all. They also ditched Dante's long white hair and gave him short brown hair, some have argued its more of a prequel than a reboot but regardless, some die hard fans of the original series weren't happy with but many gamers still enjoy it to this day. Dante basically doesn't remember his parents or anything from his childhood, he's just a a rebellious young adult who loves the ladies, but then Kat comes to him and she introduces him to her brother and along his journey his past is revealed to him, he turns out to the the son of an angel, his mother, and a demon, his father, which makes him a Nefilim, as well as his twin brother, and of course he goes on to gain more and more powers as the game progresses. Game play wise, its primarily a hack and slash affair, he goes around doing combos and using his guns and other weapons to take out demons while uncovering his past. There are jump puzzles but they're beyond simple, they aren't even close to being difficult like the ones in Lords 2 or Tomb Raider or anything like that. DLC wise, to try to calm down the die hard fans of the earlier games, they added a way to make Dante look like the old school one, and they also added an expansion where one can play as Vergil and his quest to discover his past. Personally, I'd have preferred the expansion involving playing as Kat since she's my second favorite character in the game. She's a young girl with witchcraft powers who helps Dante and Vergil until the surprising end.

I'm playing LOS 1 this time with the goal to actually beat it this time, got to the end last time but then moved to Skyrim, this time I'll try to finish it. It has one obstacle, Stubbs is being re-released tomorrow, but the re-release may totally be a mess, its been known to happen with remasters. The Ghostbusters remaster came out fine but a lot of people strongly dislike the Resident Evil 3 remaster, I guess they took away some things that people liked about the original.

Well Stubbs came out today and talk about a total let down. They originally said they just were going to fix the wide screen issue and that was it, and they said it would work for Windows 7 and 10. So this morning I bought it the minute it came out, I figured I'd just get a refund if it was messed up. Well, for me, it was messed up since anytime I'd try to load it, it would crash. I tried updating drivers, I installed a few updates, I did some tweaks, none of it worked. Then when I went back to the site to request a refund, they had changed the requirements, they changed it to Windows 10 only. So yeah, an hour of troubleshooting down the drain because they coded the game to use files that are only made for Windows 10. I got my refund and it'll probably be the last newer game I bother with for awhile. Oh, and those who do have Windows 10, they're reporting tons of crashes as well, so even if I had got it to run, I'd have had more issues. I should have known something was wrong, games usually install needed 3rd party files, and when the game would install it would go to start installing those 3rd party files but would stop, that wasn't a good sign.

I needed a break from the serious games like LOS and Fallout and started re-playing Lego Harry Potter 5-7, I already finished the Phoenix chapter, now the fun part, the Half Blood Prince material. The funny thing is, its so much fun I forget that they look like Lego characters and just picture them looking like they do in the films. Price wise though, the games shouldn't still be 20, they should be around 5-10,

I spent all day playing Fallout: New Vegas, was going to take a break, didn't last long.
Fallout games are amusing, they're post apocalyptic which makes it a little gloomy but a few bad guys started shooting at me and when I shot back at them, I shot off the leg of one of the hookers that was dancing around the casino, any dismemberment leads to death and bad karma if its an innocent. Basically real world laws apply to Fallout games, and there's a karma system, so one has to really know what they're doing, they pick the wrong side or decide to be evil, they'll need a lot of ammo.
Best thing about the series, one doesn't have to play them all to understand the story, they only have one thing in common, they take place in the same post apocalyptic world at around the same time, but each game, the character is someone new and in a different location in the US, and has entirely different issues. One day though, I hope they do a crossover and have all of the factions in the same game, would be a blast but it would require a HUGE map and tons, and tons of quests.
