Happy Thanksgiving, everybody! I have the requested chicken nearly ready to serve, the cream puffs defrosting, and two very interested cats on the front porch. Life is good.

Wuff!...got a lot done today, and I am happy about it. Γ°ΒΒΒΓ°ΒΒΒΊ
Got the liquor store run over with! Missons accomplished, stocked up for the long holiday weekend. Γ°ΒΒΒ Saw my sun off, as he was blazin' out of town to go good ol' San Antone. And I went back over to the SKMB, to pay a visit. So glad it is preserved, and the Langoliers can't ever come gobble it away, even though there are a few dusty old tumble weeds blowin' around here and there.Γ°ΒΒΒ
I came back with a couple of my posts from this time last year :
" November 7, 2019
SO thankful for:
all of you, my friends, & all your love, prayers & help the ka-tet weekend playground the end of drought good work & pay strength & health, even during illness & injury my sun, my son. my good, strong, healthy hardworkin baby boy. God i love him so much .....& a lot more than all that."
And this one too.....
"November 14, 2019
thankful for loved ones, friends & tet-mates safety during tempestuous weather & for all prayers answered this year"
This 2020 Thanksgiving, I am just as grateful for all those very same things and so much MORE. Last Thanksgiving I made those posts with a Smart(a§§) TV remote.....
This year I am so happy and blessed to be typing this post with a new computer! An early X-mas present from a most wonderful, beloved friend, who got sick and tired of watching me muddle through with different devices, like my TV remote and tablet. I am so happy and grateful! All I was asked to do is to have fun with it, and do good work on it! I am going to do my very, very best to do exactly that.
I am so sorry that many of you, my friends, have had such a rough time this year, and I promise to keep you all in my prayers, good thoughts, vibes and good wishing and willing always! And I just KNOW it's all going to get better and better and be alright!Γ°ΒΒΒ Γ’ΒΒ€
Happy Thanksgiving from here! Love you all, ka-tet mine!
(((((((All in need or not!)))))))
OH! This so cool! My sun just called me from San Antonio, put me speaker phone with everyone to say Grace before dinner! πβ€
"Bless us O Lord, and these Thy gifts, which we are about to receive, through Thy bounty, through Christ our Lord." -Amen +Dixi -
....my kid did a fine job of saying it. It's a great day today. πβ€πΉ

Turkey in the roaster and itβs driving me nuts, making me hongry. Turkey neck boiling on the stove for the dog. Live wild turkeys strutting in the woods like they donβt give a DAMN what day it is. Wild Turkey in the bottle, 8 years old and a hundred and one PROOF!
You all have yez a happy Gobble Gobble. Sounds like you're a "turkey junkie", like the Old Man in "A Christmas Story"! ππ
Turkey neck for the dog is gonna be just fine. Boiling it like that you're gonna have a nice little pot of turkey broth. And it is so easy to just strain it and pick out all the bone pieces and give the meats to the good ol' muttley. Done it many a time. π Y'all have a LOVELY day! πβ€Turkey in the roaster and itβs driving me nuts, making me hongry. Turkey neck boiling on the stove for the dog. Live wild turkeys strutting in the woods like they donβt give a DAMN what day it is. Wild Turkey in the bottle, 8 years old and a hundred and one PROOF!
You all have yez a happy Gobble Gobble. Have you given your dog the turkey neck before? I'm just wondering as it seems (according to the good ole internet) that it's safe to give them a raw turkey neck but not a cooked one. (Unless you take all the meat off and just him/her the meat?)
It's something to do with the bones being cooked at a high heat which makes them much harder.
Sorry to be a bother but here's something I copied from a web site about feeding your dog:
COOKED BONES ARE DANGEROUS.
βCookedβ includes boiled, steamed, fried, baked, even dehydrated, freeze-dried and smoked bones found at your pet supply store can be dangerous. Cooking causes the structure of the bone to become hard and splintery.
Do not cook the turkey neck before you feed it, and do not let your dog have any turkey bone after cooking. For dinner, pieces of white meat without visible fat or skin is totally fine.
Your dog can have the giblets! (My Mom always used to eat those parts herself)

Lol! Alright! π
Camp out on the Patio! Eat drink and be Merry! ....Phil showed a little while ago, bearing Banana Puddin', fried oysters, deviled eggs and Mary Jane! Crazy ol' hophead got on his sister in law's nerves, so his wife sent him down to my house with some goodies.
Sigh.....he's currently trying to talk me into making pork butt tamales for Christmas.π€¨ ...we'll see....HE is going to buy everything to do it, IF he can talk me into it. π€¨ He says Hi to everyone! π
Lmao! Laptop is charged up, taking it outside with me with a couple of White Russians for us, and going to trade him a plate with my dressing, sausage rolls and mini mince meat pies! Phil's not scared to try mince meat pies, Dio! They're sweet and really delicious. π
....dang! I just thought I was going to get to be "home alone" today!π€¨π

Oh no, I just tear some meat off and mix it and the liver in with dog food.

Oh no, I just tear some meat off and mix it and the liver in with dog food. That sounds good. My Dad was the one who was always picking the meat off the neck himself. He was very thrifty and couldnβt waste anything. So whatβs on the menu? Turkey a la King? Turkey Fricasee? Hot turkey sandwiches? Turkey soup? Iβll stop now because Iβm making myself hungry!
