Just because Halloween probably won’t happen in the usual fashion doesn’t mean it’s pointless to have at least some Halloween spirit. What might you be doing. I’m trying to binge-read some Lovecraft stories. Trying to get 1 short story a day before moving on to his longer works.
So far I’ve finished:
1: Dagon 2: The Thing on the Doorstep 3: The Temple
The other 2 were okay. But The Thing on the Doorstep is one of the best short stories I’ve ever read! I like how the climax ties all the loose ends together and is incredibly chilling in its morbidity. I plan on trying to read Imprisoned with the Pharoahs next.

I think we will be having the October horror movie marathon again. So that will help too.

I have a ridiculous amount of Halloween decorations. I usually don’t start setting them up until October 1st, but I might start a little earlier this year just to cheer myself up . I’m planning to watch a bunch of Hammer & Amicus movies.
I’ve been getting together with my kids to watch a movie every couple of weeks. We finished the whole Rocky series, and I think we’re gonna watch all the Hannibal movies next.
And I’m still gonna pass out candy, although we probably won’t get many trick-or-treaters this year.

The only candy I'm buying this year is the good stuff because with minimal trick or treaters, I will probably be the one eating it.

That's a great idea! I may steal that. I haven't read a lot of Lovecraft.
We are already starting with the Halloween movie watching. SYFY channel has started running things like Beetlejuice and Zombieland. I am ready!!

When we first moved here, we'd get literally hundreds of trick-or-treaters. I'm talking 300-350 kids. It started to dwindle about a decade ago, and last year was an all-time low of only about 25 kids. I'll still buy candy for all the kids I know, but I don't expect very many "stranger" kids to come trick-or-treating.

The schedule of AMC's FearFest can be found here:
www.halloweenmoviesontv.com/amc-fear-fest-schedule/
I saw last night some channel is having a Stephen King movie marathon shortly (possibly this weekend). I'll try to find more about it this evening if I can remember who it is.

I had many more in years past than I have the last few years. I think there have been a lot more events scheduled for the kids to go to on Halloween and it has decreased the numbers.

I just finished reading "The Hound", it was rather short. Only about a 20 minute read, but I enjoyed it! Spooky little monster story with a great ending.

Some of my favorite games and movies are inspired by his work and I'm familiar with the tones and lore around them, as well as the life of the man himself. I've read sections of his work in the past, usually of his more famous stuff. So I'm trying to start by reading works that I am completely blind to the plot of beforehand. That way how the story unfolds more surprisingly. Then I plan on eventually getting to the stuff I already know at least some of the plot of already: Color Out of Space, Herbert West Reanimator, Shadow Over Insmouth, etc., and of course, The Call of Cthulhu.

Every one of his stories are excellent. I recommend you check out another author, a fellow Texan, by the name of Robert E. Howard, he also wrote Cthulu stories and was a contemporary, he's an excellent writer, he's most famous for being the creator of Conan, you should find a collection of his horror stuff, excellent. Stephen King said that the Howard story, "Pigeons from Hell", is one of the greatest short stories ever written.

I thought it was good, a bit modern for my taste. Glad to know Richie gets to sing some songs, I know he's been a fan of BÖC since he was a kid, so I'm sure singing a new song with them is a dream. I love the lyrics, I even was the one who transcribed them for the Genius lyric page this morning, albeit there was a singular typo in them I haven't fixed yet. It's a good song, kinda like I Love the Night 2.

Maybe I'm just a BOC purist, and people will call me somebody stuck in the past ... But that's my opinion. Who wrote the lyrics, do you know? Was it Shirley?

I think he fits the band more than any other member that's been in since the original 5. Perhaps Shirley, I don't know. I'm not really a fan of Shirley's writing but I think the past 2 singles (which I know were lyrics by him) had okay lyrics, I liked Box in my Head because it felt like a Shel Silverstein poem. I thought this one had the best lyrics out of the poems so far, it reminds me of the gothic horror game, Darkest Dungeon. But I think Box in my head has been my favorite one musically.

I've read several of Shirley's books, he is definitely a love or hate him kind of author. Will Danny Miranda sing a song, that's what I want to know.

I don’t really care for hearing either him or Jules. Nothing against them. But Buck, Eric, and Ritchie are what I prefer to hear from.
