Aha! This makes sense now - it's nothing to do with a toilet in the bathroom
I should have known this from watching Downton Abbey - ladies back then would "do their toilet" which means fixing their hair etc.
Back then they would have a lady's maid to help with dressing etc. (if you were well off/aristocratic) - thanks for clearing that up!
Reminded me of Poirot in "Murder on the Orient Express",
talking about doing his nightly 'toilet'.

LOL. When I had a wood burning fireplace I cut and split wood for 13 years. Rule of thumb... when you think you have enough wood for the winter you need five times more. Almost took some toes off once when the chainsaw slipped and went through my right boot. I split the wood manually with a wood splitting axe.

I liked Rocketman. Bohemain Rhapsody though, that movie was embarrassingly bad. Not to dampen your enjoyment, but, I would say it was a pretty offensive depiction of Queen (also treated Queen as Freddie Mercury, the band). Handled Freddie's sexuality terribly too, which is kinda a big part of why he was so influential and so favored today as being one of the first big openly gay celebrities, especially in the music industry. Also, the editing on that film was quite possibly the worst editing I have ever seen in a big budget motion picture. Now, I'm sounding like those old guys on the muppets who complain about everything, which I don't mean to come off as assholish. Just speaking train of thought. View AttachmentRocketman was like what Bohemian Rhapsody should've been, imo. The musical scenes were imaginative, I think it handled Elton as a person pretty well too. I also like Elton John a lot more than I do Queen, which might have influenced my opinion on the movie some. Goodbye Yellow brick Road is a great album. I liked Bohemian Rhapsody but one thing that bothered me was many events were out of sequence to when they happened in real life. I couldn't see a reason in the storytelling to do that. Some things were out of sequence in Rocketman too but I could see the reasons the filmmakers did that in Rocketman (it was a musical and certran songs worked better out of sequence). I thought Rami was great in Bohemian Rhapsody.
As for Freddie's sexuality, if I remember correctly, he wasn't openly gay until a few days before he died. Freddie never would say probably because it would have been such a big deal in the media in those days. It would not have been a big deal for the people that listened to his music.

While as a straight cisgender man myself, I can't speak on behalf of lgbtq+ people, I have a lot of close friends in the community, some of which are still trapped in the closet due to living in a close minded environment or with bigoted parents, so I know it's not all sunshine and rainbows for gay and transgender people in the 21st century.
