I couldn't separate my 2 favourite guitarists - Mark Knopfler and David Gilmour from dire straits and pink Floyd respectively. I really like Billy Gibbons from zz topp for making fuzz sound different from jimi hendrix.
As this is not about being the best guitarist I'm going to mention dave grohl from the foo fighters (and nirvana) for being the nicest man in rock.

I thought that distinction went to Michael Anthony of Van Halen.

My favourite of all time is Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin. The man is an amazing guitarist.

Mark Knopfler
Billy Gibbons
Tom Morello Ah, Tom Morello ... him and Slash go to the same club, most overrated guitarists of all time.

I love Jimmy ... but I should say ... Ritchie Blackmore.

I liked Rainbow, too.

I'm not well versed in which guitarists are which but your post reminded me of this:
We used to listen to this a long, long time ago

This is the guy that replaced Ritchie Blackmore, Steve Morse. But yes, Ritchie played on the original song.

Blackmore is doing medieval themed folk music now.
I kinda dig it.

I kinda dig it. I wonder what Ronnie would be doing if we still had him around....I sure miss him.

Steve Howe is the most amazing guitarist I have ever seen. Twice I saw him live, front row seats- in front of him. His hands are too talented for my words to describe. Mr Howe is king of prog rock.
Zack Wylde works so hard. I love watching him. He walked off the stage and stood in front of me, blazing thru Whipping Post. I was speechless.
Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme is another of my favorites. He's a versatile guitarist "More Than Words" to "Get the Funk Out". And he is easy on the eyes.
Brian May - He's had a wonderful career and who doesn't love an astrophysicist/guitarist ?

Jon's voice is exactly the same now as it was then, guy's an Angel. Disgrace that he hasn't been asked to re-join the tribute band that calls themselves YES now.

But we had Rick Wakeman's son, not Rick . I saw them more recently- Jon Anderson was long gone. 2015 & 2016, I think...
