First hat I’ve ever made out of granny squares! Thanks, spidey! It was unbelievably easy...took about 20 minutes, but that ‘s because I had the squares made already. That flower is just pinned on...I have to move it down and sew it on, but here’s my little hat model. Attachment DeletedOn the next one,I’m gonna put the seams/ ridges on the inside.

The last few days I have been working on an afghan made with granny squares - colours are yellow, light turquoise blue, and purple with a bit of black and burgundy.
Now I am attaching all the squares together by using a single crochet stitch with a lighter lavender colour - it makes ridges on the good side of the project but I like the effect.
Once that is all done I will go around a few times to finish it off with the left over colours from the project.
It's just a small lap blanket but I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will turn out nice.
Nice! Is there anything in the world that can’t be made out of Granny Squares? It seems like once you get the hang of those, you can crochet a whole world made out of yarn. At least that’s what I’d like to do. 🤪 Your blanket will be beautiful.🌸 Thanks! It's just something to put on my lap when the cat feels like climbing up there while I am watching TV smilie_tv_26

Well - I guess I could try! I'm not a good photographer like you but once it's finished I might use my phone to take a quick pic
The red one is done. A new hat to go with that mischievous grin. That's a cute hat! And it's made out of granny squares? Maybe you could figure out how to make a reusable mask for these Covid-19 times (might have to put a coffee filter or something in it as well for protection)

Thanks--yep, the red one is all squares, too. It looks kinda puffed up in some places because Mia, my model ,had some crazy pony tails going on under the hat. I haven't crocheted any masks, but I've sewn a bunch. It's very easy and takes all of about 10 minutes if you have a sewing machine. I had to experiment on the first few to find the right elastic. I keep the "mutant" projects for myself and give the good stuff away, so I have a nice supply of kooky looking masks now. smilie_girl_freude

Thank you. I sew a lot..normal things like clothes and stuff for the house, but I also just mess around to see what happens if I attach a little of this to a little of that with a needle and some thread. A very Frankensteinish approach, haha. One of my sons is an artist and sometimes he asks me to make 3D versions of ideas he has. Just to get a character out of his head and see if he wants to take it any further. Occasionally they’re normal little animals, but sometimes they’re ladies with heart-shaped heads, old lady-ish cats, or bratty big- headed ballerina-girls . Here’s a random assortment so you can see what I mean. My house is full of these weirdos. 😄

I will go back to making my new tablecloth now Aww you’re very sweet.Thank you. I don’t know if it’s talent or just a willingness to make a big mess and see what turns up.😁 I would love to see what you’re making! I don’t know exactly what I’m doing yet, but this is what I’m looking at.And you can see some of the other little people/creatures hanging around my desk. I wasn’t kidding about making a mess.😄

Gosh, they are so cute! I don't have anything to post right now. I usually sell it. But besides tablecloths, sometimes with a centrepiece or a topper, I make placemats, runners, curtains, Christmas stockings and treeskirts. I sew everything by hand, I am terrible when using a sewing machine. It takes a lot longer to make something sewn by hand but people seem to go for it. Been doing it for years and finally making a few things for me. The tablecloth I'm making for my diningroom table is a cream colour with the same colour double ruffle gathered lace and the topper is a teal and gold raised sheer fabric. The edges of the fabric are scalloped with gold. Next I want to make something for that table for Christmas. Managed to get some quality fabric on line from Fabricville at a super price plus it was buy 1 metre get 1 free. I had never looked at the site before but with the pandemic, the local fabric shop was closed.

@alexandra, your projects sound beautiful! It must be a good feeling to be able to sell your creations.Do you sell online or locally?
I’m glad you found a good online resource for buying material during the pandemic. My mother in law is a bit of a sewing-supplies-hoarder. She just recently moved into a smaller house and gave me 3 bins full of fabric. It will take me years, literally, to use it all.
