I mostly like the cast from the original. The thing I remember most from the remake was the song played at the end of the movie '99 problems.' It was the first time I heard that version.
"99 problems"....I have never heard that one before! If I have I didn't recognize it, who did the original? and when? I'm not sure when they were made...
The remake... Hugo (and I don't know if you can even call it a remake, but he had to give credit to the original due to the chorus)
The original... Jay-Z

That was a pretty good movie. Was it based on a book by Straub? Thought I read somewhere that it was. Dean Koontz. I was surprised they never made a follow up movie, but the actor that played him was so good, and with his odd death I guess he couldn't be replaced. Anton Yelchin was a good actor.
I have only read one of the Odd Thomas books and it was the best Koontz I've ever read.

The final battle between Michael and David in the Lost Boys has always been a favorite of mine, despite David not being the final bad guy. They had tension from day one and not only was Michael irked with David over Star and tricking him into becoming a vampire, he had his family to protect. The line where David says that Michael is a killer was great and the song 'Cry Little Sister' was used perfectly for that scene, and helped make that song a cult classic. For the record, G Tom Mac is what the singer goes by now and he still does music, he did a few albums a few years ago but they're only available on CDbaby and a few other random indie music shops.
Charlie going postal in Firestarter and just toasting everyone near the end of the film is another fave, no clever one liners, didn't even really say a word until it was over, just cried and made sure they all burned for what they did to her family. The Tangerine Dream score fit the scene well and at the very end she does say "for you daddy", which was sweet. They did have it coming, they tortured the McGee's, and Rainbird was a freak on top of that.
This is from the Director's Cut of Rob Zombie's Halloween 2, it puts more emphasis on Brackett finding Annie, and the score and Dourif just sell it perfectly. I'm not a fan of Zombie's version of Halloween but he gets props for this scene, as do the actors...

Really liked this movie, and the soundtrack!...
Some have said that it is more of a 90 minute rock music video compilation due to all of the over the top rock songs, and the really MTV style the characters had. I felt it was just a solid and stylish vampire film with some excellent performances, as well as some great songs. The director wanted to follow up on the Lost Boys with a film called the Lost Girls but he got busy doing other things I guess, and then years later fans got two direct to video sequels that had Fieldman, and weren't that great. The thing, while I like Fieldman, that was one of those films where it was the entire cast that made it good, just Fieldman alone just wasn't enough to make the sequels worthwhile. I still have the original soundtrack on cassette somewhere. I always said I'd get the cd once they remastered it but then I learned they rarely remaster soundtracks, but yet they remastered the Top Gun soundtrack which wasn't that great.

Zombie's Halloween was pretty good, Malcomb McDowell was an excellent choice I think, and really liked Danny Trejo and his added character in that one. Brad Douriff is always great. ....pressed for time here, talk later. Good to see you posting in this thread.

I felt Zombie got a few things wrong with Halloween but overall, they were better than Halloween 7 and 8. Douriff is one of those actors who surprises me at times, I'm used to him as Chucky's voice but he's good in a lot of other stuff as well.

Did you ever see his Oscar winning performance in "One flew over the cuckoo's nest"?
