I live in the suburbs, it was always pretty quiet here.
But now it's eerie.

The City of Osnabrueck has imposed a curfew, starting tonight. Citizens will only be allowed to leave their homes between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for compelling reasons. Rut Ro....I see Apartment Putt-Putt and Lockdown Special Apartment Olympics on the horizon...or at least a Marathon. Stay safe Frank! ...and stock up on the chips and booze. a054

We got our first vaccine today. Well organized. They booked us for our second shot. Funny thing that happened.... After getting shot, you have to wait 15 minutes. I picked up a few things I wanted to buy and was waiting while another customer was being served. There were 3 of us waiting the 15 minutes, and one person waiting to get her shot. A man came in, so I asked him was he there to buy something. He gave me a “mind your own business” look. I laughed and said, I have to wait 15 minutes because I just got my shot. If you are just buying something you can go ahead of me. No need for you to wait too. He apologized for being rude, said he was there for the vaccine. That kind of broke the ice though, and we all started chatting and joking around. DH & I were first to leave, and instead of goodbye, people said, see you back here in 2-3 months, and one lady says “I’ll bring coffee”. it was so “normal”. Just so happily normal. 😁 this makes me so happy

Hello everyone how are we all doing and coping with this covid world. I am getting more scared and very frustrated at all of this. Most likely our provincial governments. (I live in western Canada) and how people are acting. Our variant rates are getting stronger leading to more infections. I am so frustrated that our local government who is in charge of restraints and restrictions are doing nothing to help like some other places in Canada. And a lot of people who don’t care. I have gone from being less scared for my 79 year old mom to my self. It also does not help. Am spending a lot more time at home because the store I am working at is behind in opening the store so have not much to do. But I am getting creative and have found building LEGO helps. I am trying..

@hillover36 I’m in ON, so obviously share your concerns.
Also concerned that my sister is lieing to me. She & her husband tend to jump into conspiracy theories. She was going on about the vaccines having something she’s allergic to in it. I showed her the ingredients and that is not an ingredient in any of them....and she’s not actually allergic to that anyway. So, she thanked me, and then told me they had booked their appointments to get first shot. But she gave a date about 3 weeks away. And everyone I know gets an appointment booked within 3 days.
They are in their 70’s and both have poor health. But, it’s their choice. However, I think she’s lieing to me and not planning to get it at all. Add to that, she is no longer wearing a mask, except to her doctor’s office, and this may mean I won’t be seeing her.

Although in my situation it's more people I know who aren't 18 yet not being able to get a vaccine due to their parents jumping to conspiracy theories.

Where I live in Canada it is the law that you must wear a mask in indoor public places so I hope it's the same for you.
I know when I lived in Edmonton that they were quite big on their "rights and freedoms" so I hope you are doing okay out there.
Just stay home as much as possible and hopefully once enough people get vaccinated you will feel safer

Just heard on the news that they are finally bringing out a Stay at Home order in Ontario - wow - I hope this helps - they have such a huge population compared to Manitoba

Stay at home....unless you are a teacher or student. Not sure what the logic is. Kids don’t get or carry Covid? Most of them don’t get seriously ill? What?
Today, my 4 year old granddaughter was taken out of her class to sit alone and wait to be picked up by her mom. She was in contact with another student that tested positive. They ride the same bus.
So now we wait. They said she can’t get tested for 7 days (false negative if tested to soon).
Her mom works from home. Her dad is staying home tonight, then he’s off for a week.

Good luck and I hope she comes out negative.
Not sure why they are keeping the schools open but I am guessing it would be difficult for parents to find day care?

She’s in junior kindergarten.
since only essential workers should be going anywhere, daycare shouldn’t really be an issue.

Hey everyone p. Thanks for your understanding since I posting this on late Tuesday our premier of Alberta said we were going back to “stage 1” so that means a bit more restrictions but not enough as far as I am concerned, but I am feeling better. I was able to get the vaccine as I qualify as I am a caregiver and live with my mom. I was going to wait it out a bit more but not with our infection rate over 10%. I am staying at home and working on organizing projects and crafting and such, while working setting up a new Winners store in the city. But the attitudes of people really bother me, but at least I am being safe.

I am sorry about your grand daughter I hope she is not too scared. And I hope she is negative for Covid.

Thank you @hillover36 . I was talking to the kids today. She’s feeling fine, enjoying staying home. Her parents are downplaying so she doesn’t get scared.
We were supposed to go for a backyard visit so her brother could open his birthday present with us there. Instead we did it online...again.
