Has their been any estimate of how long these vaccines are supposed to last once you've been vaccinated?
There has been a tentative estimation of about 5-6 months at the least but thats rather tentative since its so new. Many officials, at least in UK talk about it being likely that we have to take vaccines for a few years at least until the population can build up a resistance that lessens covids effect. It also depends on how potent the variants will prove to be. A possible scenario is that we, just as we today can get a yearly flushot, will have the oppurtunity to get a yearly Covidshot. The more people that take the vaccin the faster it will have a result in the population. Thats my take for whats it worth from what i read. That is really going to suck if it becomes a yearly thing, I thought the vaccine was a permanent thing, but I guess its a vaccine not a cure. Having a vaccine like (yearly) that is really going to screw with the immune system, that was the case when I started getting flu shots every year.

The African countries haven't had much vaccine at all so this looks like it will help them significantly.
Is that a 2 dose vaccine? There's a hand holding 2 vials in the picture but I'm not sure that means anything and I didn't see anything in the article about that.

Yep, certain places in Europe the Pfizer/Moderna vaccine isn't available for some reason, I have no idea why. Luckily Russia is helping them out. I believe it is.

We got our first vaccine today. Well organized. They booked us for our second shot.
Funny thing that happened....
After getting shot, you have to wait 15 minutes. I picked up a few things I wanted to buy and was waiting while another customer was being served. There were 3 of us waiting the 15 minutes, and one person waiting to get her shot. A man came in, so I asked him was he there to buy something. He gave me a “mind your own business” look. I laughed and said, I have to wait 15 minutes because I just got my shot. If you are just buying something you can go ahead of me. No need for you to wait too. He apologized for being rude, said he was there for the vaccine. That kind of broke the ice though, and we all started chatting and joking around. DH & I were first to leave, and instead of goodbye, people said, see you back here in 2-3 months, and one lady says “I’ll bring coffee”.
it was so “normal”. Just so happily normal. 😁

Got my first shot the other day. Scheduled for next one next month. Glad to hear it - to be honest I was worried about side effects after hearing of blood clots; but apparently that is not the case. It will probably be a long while before I am eligible anyway

That is cute - Andy was trying to book an appointment for a vaccination online but had problems with it.

The City of Osnabrueck has imposed a curfew, starting tonight. Citizens will only be allowed to leave their homes between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for compelling reasons.
