My country is going into lockdown on Friday. Here we go again. Pennsylvania has some counties (such as Philadelphia) shutting down as of Friday.
I live in Bucks County which is next to Philly so we will soon be there as well.

Right, if the lockdown were the answer the first time and it didn't work, why would it now. I get why they did it back in March, it was because we didn't know all that much about the virus, but now we do, we know how to stem it, so there's really no excuse for what certain places (including here) are doing. This is going to seem like a joke when I say it, but sadly its not. Our Minister for Finance said that if we do not adhere to their strict lockdown protocols, then we won't be going to the European Championships (soccer tournament). Really? Oh, and did I mention they also threatened to take Christmas away? Yep, they did that too. But you're right, the lockdown in March, it probably simply slowed it for several months.

Yes, it is a bit (or a lot) Orwellian in nature.
My last 9 months have been nothing but stocking up and securing my home and surroundings.

I'm home with strep throat and mild bronchitis and just finishing up season 7 of the blacklist.
What a great show.

Well, one thing you can say about COVID is that the Doomsday preppers are laughing their asses off at anyone who called them paranoid.

What a great show. Blacklist is a show I will definitely get to. James Spader is an excellent actor. How can Amazon have gold like the Blacklist and trash like The Walking Dead: The World Beyond?

I just found out that I have an exposure notification on my i-phone. I'm not exactly sure how this works but I think if someone tests positive and list their contacts, they will notify you. Does anyone know how this works?

The logic for this is flawed. What if I've got a girl who I knew in college's number in my contacts from over a decade ago, are they going to be getting a notification that I have COVID? Despite the fact that we haven't spoke in a decade?

I checked on my phone and of course, Florida is not participating.
BTW, if you have a girls' number on your phone and she hasn't spoken to you in a decade, it's time to move on.

Move on? But come on, Joe, there's still a chance, right?

diobolic Is it true that there is a indoor mask mandate in Penn? Yes, the mandate states masks are now required indoors wherever people from different households are gathered. And requires out-of-state travelers to test negative for the coronavirus before arriving in the state. I’ll leave it at simply information rather than my opinion before it turns into a hot topic.

The contacts are anonymous, nothing to do with who is on your contact list.
if you download the app, it is “pinging” off other phones that have downloaded the app. Let’s say you are out for dinner. You are sitting there for an hour. During that hour, your app is “pinging” off all the phones near you. 4 days later, one of those people tests positive, and is given a code to input into their app. Then, everyone their app pinged off within the last 2 weeks gets notified they may have been in contact.
It will not tell you who, where, or when.
