Horrible news about The President's son, wishing him a speedy recovery. Luckily, his age range should be fine.

I was talking to my brother yesterday. He is up on Long Island and he claims that in upstate New York they are looking at potentially going into another lockdown. Not sue if that's true or not, but I know enough to be doubtful of whatever numbers the federal government are pushing. I just saw the article below regarding the UK. British ministers prepare for social lockdown in northern Britain, London www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-britain-lockdown/british-ministers-prepare-for-social-lockdown-in-northern-britain-london-the-times-idUSKBN26I11SSEPTEMBER 27, 20206:29 PMUPDATED 13 HOURS AGO British ministers prepare for social lockdown in northern Britain, London: The Times By Reuters Staff 2 MIN READ (Reuters) - The British government is planning to enforce a total social lockdown across a majority of northern Britain and potentially London, to combat a second wave of COVID-19, The Times reported late on Sunday. Under the new lockdown measures being considered, all pubs, restaurants and bars would be ordered to shut for two weeks initially, the report said. Earlier this week, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said any new national lockdown would threaten jobs, livelihoods and human contact. The report added that households would also be banned indefinitely from meeting each other in any indoor location where they were not already under the order. Things are really bad over here, we're in lockdown where I am. It sucks. Hopefully Long Island doesn't have to go into Lockdown. My plan would be to have things go on as normal, but have the elderly and those with conditions protected greatly, making sure they have oxygen tanks and such. There is promising news about this drug that The President says works, Regulon, hopefully it will make a difference. Hopefully they will make that drug affordable as well.
My brother is up on Long Island, so he gives me the local heads up as to what's happening there.
I heard the WHO recently changed course on the full lockdowns, so we will see where round 2 takes us.

My husband was exposed at work last Monday. He got sent home Tues, tested Friday (still wasn't showing symptoms at time of test) but had a fever late Friday night. Results came back positive yesterday.
I had a very high fever Sat night. Pretty safe to say I have it too.
The symptoms have been a little different for us but mostly the fever, serious body aches. I was slightly wheeze that first night but that is better. Still though, even though we probably count as mild cases. It is plenty miserable.
I slept most of today. Ready to sleep again now but I need to eat something.
Hubby on lockdown til the 28th, me the 29th and kids til 29th unless they get it, then timer resets. Called their schools, kept them home, they will be zooming their classes the next 2 wks.

Hey guys, its been a little while since I've been here. As some of you may know, I live in Liverpool, England, which is a tier 3 "very high risk area" right now. About 8 or 9 people have had it in our work, most have gotten over it, for some it was a mild flu, others said it was the worst illness they'd had.
I am the latest person to test positive for it. I had normal very mild cold symptoms for a few days but on Saturday lost my sense of taste and smell. Took the test on Monday and got a positive result on Tuesday. My taste and smell are returning now (although not fully and smell is lagging behind taste). Now I just feel like I have the flu, a pretty middle of the road flu, certainly nowhere near the worst flu I've had.
If I've not had a temperaturefor 48 hours and I feel well, I can go back to work on the 31st of October.

cat Anthony
I'm so sorry to hear that you have COVID. I'm pretty certain I had it back at the start of the year, I didn't get tested because this was well before anyone knew about the virus, and it knocked me on my a*s, so I can imagine what it is you are going through, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Hopefully you'll make a full recovery soon.

We are hanging in there. Kids are still 100% healthy.
Scott and I both have had no fever for several days. We felt pretty good for about 12 hours or so. But then the aches and exhaustion have taken hold and are kicking our butts pretty good. Just feels like every inch of skin is shooting electricity through you. My back is the worst. And sleep is not restful because of the hurting. Tylenol helps some.
Scott lost his sense of taste and smell. I did too but kind of different. Everything tastes like garbage. So hungry and weak but food is disgusting.
We both say we were way sicker at the beginning of the year too but this is definitely no fun. Even with mild cases it is kicking our stamina right in the hiney.

Due to increasing numbers of infections we get a "lockdown light", starting November, 2nd until the end of november.
These are the new restrictions:
Celebrations or gatherings in public places or in homes would not be allowed.
Domestic tourist accommodation would be banned during the lockdown period, under the plans. It means overnight accommodation in Germany would only be offered for "necessary and expressedly non-tourist purposes".
Hospitality establishments such as restaurants, bars, cafes and similar venues would close, except for deliveries and collection of food for takeaway.
Entertainment events would not be allowed throughout Germany for the entire lockdown period under plans.
Theatres, opera venues and concert halls would close. The closure proposal also covers recreational and amateur sports activities plus all sports facilities, including swimming pools, fitness studios and similar venues. Fairs, cinemas and amusement parks would also shut.

I will say, my opinion on COVID, as said on the SKMB, was completely wrong. Well, my opinion at the SKMB is back. And yes, I am quoting my own post.
