I will say, my opinion on COVID, as said on the SKMB, was completely wrong.

Only a vaccine will make it safe to go back to school and work in offices. My employer has announced that we will work from home for the remainder of 2020. Vaccines take years to develop, I wouldn't be banking on that happening ant time soon, what would the side effects of such a vaccine be as well? Maybe the vaccine will be like the Cancer Vaccine in Richard Matheson's I Am Legend, where we all turn into rabid zombie-vampires and Will Smith is the last survivor with a German Shepard.

Or it could turn us into Will Smith, or Charlton Heston, a la Omega Ma.

Some schools trying to go back to normal. With masks and smaller classes.
Some schools are closed again after they found out, it doesn`t work well.
School ain't normal with people wearing masks ... Seems weird going into a bank with a mask on.

Banking is an industry that will never be the same after this. With the internet, there's not been much of a reason to go to a bank for a long time but they keep them open because people were used to them and many weren't comfortable with on-line banking but after this, I'll bet you see a significant number of bank branches (and employees) disappear.

I don't trust online banking ...

Great news coming from Russia, Putin has approved a vaccine after successful testing! The international opinion of Russia and Putin shouldn't matter, if the man has a vaccine then give him what he wants.

From what i read about the russian vaccine its testing is incomplete and has been reported to have severe sideeffects. Before even considering using it an independent testing (outside Russia) should be done. That Putin has approved it does not mean a thing. He has always been interested in being first with things like that and not minding taking shortcuts. This is so important we cant afford shortcuts in the testing procedure.

I read reports of Astra-Zeneca testing a vaccin that, if everything goes well, might be ready to distribute december-january at the eaŕliest. Lets hope that is correct. The Corona virus is not gonna disappear in a long while i dont think but if the vaccin is good we might at least start to live a little more like normal.

School has started today with restrictions. I don`t know how the kids behave in school but i saw them outside, in big groups without masks, no distancing. Schoolbus overcrowded etc. How long this can work is questionable.
Almost every christmas market is canceled. Refusing to wear masks is at least a 50€ fine.
Large events (Sports Concerts etc.) remain banned until January.

Sputnik-V, the drug that the Russians are developing, is now being produced with the Iranians. Further trials are going to be conducted in India and if they are a success they then they plan of vaccinating the whole of Russia by the end of this year. Hopefully they are successful and they share a vaccine. I'm done with COVID and all the BS associated with it.

I was talking to my brother yesterday. He is up on Long Island and he claims that in upstate New York they are looking at potentially going into another lockdown. Not sue if that's true or not, but I know enough to be doubtful of whatever numbers the federal government are pushing. I just saw the article below regarding the UK. British ministers prepare for social lockdown in northern Britain, London www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-britain-lockdown/british-ministers-prepare-for-social-lockdown-in-northern-britain-london-the-times-idUSKBN26I11SSEPTEMBER 27, 20206:29 PMUPDATED 13 HOURS AGO British ministers prepare for social lockdown in northern Britain, London: The Times By Reuters Staff 2 MIN READ (Reuters) - The British government is planning to enforce a total social lockdown across a majority of northern Britain and potentially London, to combat a second wave of COVID-19, The Times reported late on Sunday. Under the new lockdown measures being considered, all pubs, restaurants and bars would be ordered to shut for two weeks initially, the report said. Earlier this week, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said any new national lockdown would threaten jobs, livelihoods and human contact. The report added that households would also be banned indefinitely from meeting each other in any indoor location where they were not already under the order.

Looks like the U.S. C-19 numbers are picking up. www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/usI wonder how many people think they have the common cold are positive. Starting a light prep for the house but nothing crazy. Stay safe out there folks!

Numbers have increased so there are new restrictions.
Starting Saturday, bars and restaurants must close by 11 p.m., with no more than five people allowed to gather inside after that time.
Nighttime gatherings in parks — where hundreds of people have congregated to drink and dance over the summer — were also banned.
New guidelines for cities as cases rise — from expanding mask-wearing to restricting sales of alcohol.

I fear the colder months with our election hysteria is going to be interesting to say the least.

Things are really bad over here, we're in lockdown where I am. It sucks. Hopefully Long Island doesn't have to go into Lockdown. My plan would be to have things go on as normal, but have the elderly and those with conditions protected greatly, making sure they have oxygen tanks and such. There is promising news about this drug that The President says works, Regulon, hopefully it will make a difference.
