Since you can’t find face masks anywhere I’ve taken to wearing a bandana over the face if I have to go out in public and have to come in close proximity to others. Now all I need to do is get me a purgatory hat and a couple of Colt single actions and I can join the James-Younger Gang.  I'm just picturing you now

You do know Frank was the smart one? Turned himself in and only spent one year in jail awaiting trial... never was convicted. Lived to the ripe old age of 72. |

The whole mask thing seems to be changing. At one point they are saying you should have a mask on, and the next they are saying no, marks don't make any difference. Oh, and Dio, if we were the James Younger gang, I'm Jesse James and YOU are Frank James. You can be the Tonto to my Lone Ranger.

COVID19 is not the same as flu's we've seen in the past.
Everyone is doing the best they know how right now.
I firmly believe that.

How are you doing in Spain, Gelata ?
Hope you and all of yours are safe and have all you need!
I am ok, and my family and friends too. But unfortunately Spain in general is so much affected, so many cases and so many deaths, above all in the centre and north of the country. I live in the south. Much less cases here.
Nevertheless, things are getting a bit better in the last days, with less new cases. It seems the worst of it has already passed, but we still have to stay at home and keep all the safety meassures.

Huh … they are just figuring things out. Should this not have been figured out well before the pandemic actually starts? Forgive me for thinking that the world governments would have contingencies for this sort of thing. Isn't that why we have Governments? To protect us?

Remember this time in history now, you and my son are very close in age, (lol, and are both quite opinionated ) in future you will have experience to draw upon.
Your generation will eventually be equipped to do better and more should a crisis like this arise again.
And THIS generation will too.

Re the masks---- the ones the public should be wearing is for the protection of all. Without knowing who(m) is a positive, wearing said mask protects all. It goes back to THINK POSITIVE- meaning, think that you and everyone else is positive for the virus. By wearing said mask potential virus can be kept away from those around you/others. Not everyone is practicing social distancing- masks offer a layer of protection.
Lastly, things will change as more is learned about the virus. Be informed, be safe, and mostly be careful. |

Spidey is absolutely correct, (she knows a hell of a lot more than most of us here) this is a NOVEL coronavirus. Corona virus' have occurred before. SARS...etc.
COVID19 is NOT a flu. I don't considerate it to be a flu, or view it as needing to be dealt with like flu's we have encountered in the past.
I did not intend to make this pneumonia-like virus sound like it is less than it is.
I have had double pneumonia in my mid 20's, it is VERY serious, and can be life threatening. And is no fun at all. But is survivable.
