Hi neesy . As of this morning, 122 cases statewide. This should probably be in the What's for Supper thread but I find I am cooking a lot more since we are stuck inside. I never was one for take out or fast food (It was a rare treat) but now I am enjoying planning meals

This is pretty cool exchange between brothers, Chris Cuomo talks about what it's like for him having COVID19. There's nothing inflammatory or political in this vid. Check out the stats on the right hand side of the screen too. This vid was posted about 19 or 20 hours ago.

Man, someone made a good point. Isn't the WHO as responsible for this as the world leaders, I mean, they were just following their orders, right? Absolute joke of an institution, anyone remember when they were saying it was okay for flights to leave Wu Han? They should have charges against them for that. Governments everywhere should just stop giving them funding, are they not meant to stop pandemics?

Governments everywhere should just stop giving them funding, are they not meant to stop pandemics? The World Health Organization is a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for international public health. It is part of the U.N. Sustainable Development Group. The work and suggestions of WHO are based on information from it's members. THat being said, it is only as good as what is given and what is followed by those nation leaders. The information and guidelines for possible "pandemics" where there. {Spoiler} The number of high-threat infectious hazards continues to rise; some of these are re-emerging and others are new. WHO develops global strategies for the prevention and control of epidemic-prone diseases, such as yellow fever, cholera and influenza. With partners from a wide range of technical, scientific and social fields, WHO brings together all globally available resources to counter these high-threat infectious hazards and scale these strategies to regional and country levels.
Flagship global strategies include:
the Eliminate Yellow Fever Epidemics strategy 2017- 2026; Ending Cholera: a Global Roadmap to 2030; the Pandemic Influenza Preparedness (PIP) Framework; and the Global Strategy for Influenza 2018-2030. For all who respond-- No Hot Topics

HI friends! Hope you are all still healthy - we're doing fine here! RubyJune is just fine too - she had an ear infection. She almost always gets one this time of year. 14 days of antibiotics and eye drops and she'll be fine. Her eyes were gooey too. Blech!
I hope you all are staying safe and healthy.

Well, we've had something change around here. My elderly neighbor friend next door is now under me and boy's care. Her children are terrified to come near her, they both have been in contact with coworkers who now have tested positive for COVID19. And they're not leaving their homes at all. (And are self monitoring for symptoms too of course.) Her daughter called me yesterday. Asking if I could check on her and get her anything needs from the store, and that she would pay me back later. Told her not to worry, we got this. We're all fine here, thank God, and being careful.

Julia Roberts out shopping in full mask and gloves: Maybe she is feeling better now - perhaps she was hoping no one would recognize her!
(It must be a pain in the butt for people to ask for autographs etc.)

Yesterday I learned how to make washable, reusable Face Masks. The Ties are more time consuming to make. The elastics are easier to work with. No one can guarantee that these cloth masks can prevent illness or completely contain contagion. I decided to make them since we are encouraged to wear masks when leaving the house.
Here is the pattern:

Since you can’t find face masks anywhere I’ve taken to wearing a bandana over the face if I have to go out in public and have to come in close proximity to others. Now all I need to do is get me a purgatory hat and a couple of Colt single actions and I can join the James-Younger Gang.

I looked over the instructions - I think it is pretty cool that they recommend using a pipe cleaner inside as a flexible nose piece
Still pretty complicated for my level of sewing knowledge (it's been too many years since I took sewing in Home Economics) Plus it's been a long time since I owned a sewing machine; my ex gave mine away to his niece facepalm

Now all I need to do is get me a purgatory hat and a couple of Colt single actions and I can join the James-Younger Gang. That's exactly what we've been doing. The boy became accustomed to wearing bandana's while we were riding mountain bikes all over the place, all year round. Keeps out road dust, and frigid air.
Thanks neesy, but we're not doing anything special. It's all just what you do for other people who need a help.
