Bought a new guitar myself a few months ago. Is that a Gibson or an ESP? It's an ESP LTD with Seymour Duncan pickups. Wish I could afford a Les Paul but I have NO complaints with the LTD. None. Nada. Zilch.

While I like the sound of the active pickups, the whole battery thing turns me off.I think I was obsessed with active pickups back then, since I had never owned a guitar with them before. And they sound nice, alright. But the build quality, lockin tuners and ebony fretboard are the features that make this guitar what it is.

I’m still “buying” things with my store credit at Bookman’s. I got this nice little old 4 th generation iPod,which I love.❤️ My kids give me their old devices, so I have a few other iPods, but the 4th generations are my favorites....and I accidentally left one out in the rain last winter...🥴..so this is a nice replacement. Oh look what’s on the menu.😎

I bought a nice hardcover copy of Black House last night at a 2nd hand store. There was an Amazon receipt tucked inside it. Someone named Barry Sullivan bought it and traded it in. I don't even think he read it, by the looks of it. It appears to be brand new.
I also got a little paperback copy of Elevation. I read this one last year, but I wouldn't mind reading it again since it's so short.

One more book purchase ,which I remembered thanks to @kurben and his bargain books. A couple of weeks ago, I found this Steven Tyler bio for 99 cents in a second hand store. I’m not all that interested in reading it from cover to cover, but there are some pretty interesting pics in it — band pics and also personal stuff like Steven with his parents, kids and even playing with his grandson.....So those alone were worth a buck. The cover has some water damage ,which is probably why it was 99 cents. Attachment Deleted

I just bought a copy of Slash's biography.
As I'm reading it, I'm finding I can really relate to him: parents splitting when you're young, a passion for drawing, riding your BMX everywhere, stealing Cheap Trick cassettes, having a major love for rock music.
It's actually a very captivating read.

It's actually a very captivating read.Yeah, sometimes bios are nice reminders that these are real people. They have families and memories and sometimes grew up just like we did. Sometimes--as with Kiss bios--I end up liking people less. In the case of Slash, though,I think the bio would make me like him more. Regardless of how Steven Tyler comes across in the media, it's pretty cool to see pics of him playing with his cousins as a kid, pushing his daughter on a backyard swing or picking up his grandson after school. I like seeing that "normal" side of him.

In the case of Slash, though,I think the bio would make me like him more. That's exactly it!! He's not the scary dude hiding behind all that hair, but a very soft spoken, almost gentle dude. He's taken the #2 spot on my favorite guitarists list.
EVH will never be dethroned, though.
And I get what you're saying about Tyler. He's so larger than life, a cartoon character with big lips, so it's nice to see he's a real person. Sort of.

Loot from Record shopping today. Fire of Unknown Origin by BÖC and I, Robot by Alan Parsons Project are both mint condition and sound amazing. The Iheart radio concert I've heard as an album but I'm interested to see what the blu ray video version entails for special features and the like.
