Succedaneum and silvics are two awesome words drawntokatet. This thread has been reminding me of a discussion John and I had one night on the SKMB, when Ms.Mod was being very good to us all and kept the board open late. I need to post about that in his thread sometime soon. .....dang, I got a lot of writing to do and get done.

You've been pretty quiet Nees, makes me think you might be feeling kinda down. I like seeing you post about things that make you happy, like seeing your hair dresser.

However I am sure I will feel 100% better once she is done.

Neesy! That is a beautiful pic! Thanks for that.
Simpatico! That is a favorite word for sure. NICE bring. A really cool relationship involves not only compatibility, but a great rapport.....and more I think.
Man, your banana bread sounds divine! Got to tell my mom about the raisins and pecan combo. She usually makes her with walnuts and extra spice.
Uh oh! Don't let morgan , hear us talking about raisins! I think she thinks they are devil-rat turds or sumthin'! Maybe she'd prefer chocolate chips.
I bet your hair looks wonderful. Hope you enjoyed getting out. 🙂

Space Bar
Yeah, it's that long thingy down there that stops your sentences from looking like the crazy seemingly endless name of a Welsh village.
And it's also the really cool smoky room hoppin' and a boppin' on Tattooine in Star Wars.

Quixote (as in Cervantes' Don Quixote)
According to Webster:
Definition - A quixotic person.
Other words from quixote - nouns: quixotism and quixotry. These remind me of the Def. and examples of Locutions......will post that when I have time.
Everyone have a great weekend.

Locutions
1. A particular form of expression or a peculiarity of phrasing, especially: a word or expression characteristic of a region, group, or cultural level. 2. A style of discourse. Phraseology
Examples of locution used in a sentence:
"We were taught to avoid certain Locutions when speaking." "In the poet's somewhat affected locution, word order is often reversed and so we have (the sea serene)."
Recent examples on the web: "With its mess of divergent voices, picture poems, and eccentric Locutions, the result is baffling, beautiful, and always fascinatingly Notley." - David Wallace, The NewYorker, "Alice Notely and the Art of Not Giving a Damn," 1 Apr.2020
"President Lyndon Baines Johnson was a retro Texan by birth and locution." - Chris Jones, Chicago Tribune.com, "Review: Broadway's 'Great Society' about LBJ has lots of history but no real bite," 2 Oct. 2019
History and Etymology for Locution: Middle English - locucion, borrowed from Anglo-French, borrowed from Latin - Locūtiōn, Locutio "act or manner of speaking, phrase, expression," from Locū-, variant stem of Loqui "to speak, talk" + -tion, -tio, suffix of verbal action-- more at Eloquent......
All of the above is from Webster's website.
This is my experience and contribution:
"Yoda" - a very good example of someone who has unique Locution.
Also, St.Joan of Arc received "Locutions" from God. She was never appeared to by any supernatural being, such as an Angel, she received her messages through voices speaking to her.
In Star Trek The Next Generation, Captain Jean Luc Picard was renamed "Locutus" when he was taken and used by the Borg as messenger and consort for the Borg Queen. osnafrank I think I'm remembering that correctly. There were a few of those old episodes, I missed and never got caught up on.

Jamais vu
The exact opposite of deja vu. The eerie feeling you get when you see and experience a familiar (sometimes mundane) place and/or event with a completely new perspective. Like it is all brighter and being seen, done, experienced...etc....for the very first time and it all has a very distinctive different feel.
